Use this post to nominate 1 anime song. Read the rules over on the main page and don't forget to upload your track someplace. All nominations will be closed after 10 tracks are nominated or until next Sunday rolls around. After that, we'll proceed to a voting phase. Feel free to discuss your nomination or other people's picks in this thread. Theme: Cityscapes Each city has its own flavor, ranging from the tranquil atmosphere of Neo-Venezia to the futuristic city of Romdeau. Just pick a piece that reminds you of a city. Any city, real or imaginary. As you can imagine, there's plenty of room for lateral thinking here :p Anime Instrumentality: Anime Music Blog Latest reviews: Aoi Hana Soundtrack | NEEDLESS Soundtrack Participate in the Anime Song of the Week Contest |

There are a lot of nominations I have in mind for this theme. Too bad the one I like the most is not actually from any anime :( [park amsterdam (the whole story)]. Reserving a spot once I get more decisive: Title: Torukia Anime: Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex Composer: Yoko Kanno Get it here: http://sharebee.com/1db3a65c Also, omake! Wow, that's a really interesting theme this week. I can't really think of anything defining myself but I look forward to seeing what people have to put forth for this one. |

Well, my eye (ear?) is currently fixed on a track from Le Chevalier D'Eon so I might pick that one. But as omo has shown, there's a lot of good selections to choose from. Decisions decisions... this is hard but I really want to participate here. There are a ton of post-rock songs and stuff I would pick, but anime songs are more difficult. Ive got one or two candidates but nothing totally convincing. |

too bad Kajiura's boogiepop album is not eligible. There are also a lot of stuff from Chiaki Konaka's shows that could be used. But please don't nominate 5 minutes of overhead power cables buzzing :p |

No nominations yet? Seems like a slow week. Anyhow, I'm just going to say that in spite of having (probably) better tracks to choose from, I'll just go with my first instinct: Title: Cafe -Paris no Kensou- Anime: Le Chevalier D'Eon Composer: Michiru Oshima Link: http://www.imeem.com/groups/eOXtIuFC/music/GZu5avu-/ooshima-michiru-le-chevalier-deon-cafe-paris-no-kensou/ This isn't even a whole city; just a segment, but one that I find is pleasant to listen to. Through the music, I feel like I'm sitting in an outdoor cafe overlooking the Seine while watching people go by. EDIT: Also just listened to Romeo x Juliet and Mai Otome. If I hadn't gone with my initial pick, I'd probably choose one from one of these two albums. I reciprocated ;) See updated post. I was actually really tempted to ditch all 5 of those nomination (especially I think the track from Neo Verona would be slicing too thin) and go with I Do. It evokes that urban lonely-surrounded-by-people thing. Kind of like that one Onitsuka Chihiro song that was used in some American commercial... Anyways. Writing it here saves me the blogging effort. |

I really really really hope that my mentioning of Neo-Venezia didn't scare people off from nominating an ARIA track. It was what inspired this theme after all since all of ARIA's music can be practically described as a huge depiction of the city :p Anime Instrumentality: Anime Music Blog Latest reviews: Aoi Hana Soundtrack | NEEDLESS Soundtrack Participate in the Anime Song of the Week Contest |

As a hardcore fan of urban settings, 'city' is immediately associated in my head with a metropolis. I would never have considered anything that didn't represent the dark street and alleys of the big city. |
