----------------------------------------
Before Reiji was going to shot Drei, Lizzie stopped them. Ein told Zwei to choose one between her and Drei.

Eh, Mio, who likes Reiji, was related to a guy related to Phantom!

Lizzie was totally cool in this ep! I was seriously expecting Cal to shoot Ein, good thing it didn't happen :) With this ep I'm finally convinced about the characters' ages. Cal is still awesome, but I hope she won't revert back into an angsty teenage girl. The only thing I disliked in this episode that Ellen told Reiji to choose between her and Cal. I understand, this will cause more drama, but... blah.

The story starting to reach its climax (only 4 eps left :( ). The only adaptation I remember watching from Bee Train is Tsubasa, but IMO they are doing a better job with Phantom, so we'll see what kind of ending we'll get. (I want a bloody and dramatic end, but maybe it's just me.)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against Reiji/Ellen (I think they'd be cute together ^^), I just don't like the fact that this turned into a love triangle.

Actually, she didn't. She posed it in form of a question, what he would do if he had to choose one of them.

I think they made a QC error there. If I recall correctly from the game, Mio left to do/get something, Cal used the opportunity to approach Reiji, and upon returning, Mio saw him talking to Cal and hid.

A bit boring of an episode. I was a little confused during the date scene where one moment Mio is talking to Reiji, the next moment, she's walking away and Cal is talking to Reiji, and the next moment she's hiding behind a tree listening to their conversation. In the end I just ascribed it to bad editing and that the date ended, Mio walked away, wanted to get a second glance, and then saw the conversation.

Other than that, I think I'm ready for the show to end.

Reiji u coward stop saying Cal Cal and didn't explain nothing to her
How indelicate mention another girl when Cal was near to forgive him Mio an intruder

the only good thing is Reiji said is happy to see Cal alive =_=
Elen showed her true feelings she loves Reij
not lke a sister but like a woman
her words were really Cruel to Cal who really looks a betrayed girl now
she put too much expectations in Reiji i can get how desperate she feels seeing the man she loves soo indecisive and not able to choose or explain what happened
im sorry for her :(

Actually, when Cal arrived, Mio said: "I think I will be going." and left (it was mentioned that everyone around felt the violent aura coming from Cal and she was probably no exception). If you followed Mio's route, she goes to a caffe across the way and looks at what is happening.

In anime, she probably did the same thing: saw an American biker girl approach Reiji, felt unwanted and left to leave them alone.

Dammit, I hate that moaning BGM so much. I mean it doesnt suit Cal's character at all, something rock-ish or De Niro-ish is more suited for her attitude IMHO. Well, other than that, things are pretty much going smoothly according to the plot, except the date's end like everyone here said, need some clearer directing.

Too much talk, not much action, most of the scenes are executed in the story-telling's fashion, not much different than the VN other than the refining characters. So at this point, this show is only a pretty-to-look-at serie IMO, but who knows, still hoping for the best in next ep, guess the other masterpieces of the previous generation set the bar to high for me. <_<

Wow....

Now Cal turned from character that annoyed me to character that I hate.
She is so f***** naive it hurts.

I really, really, really hope Ellen doesn't die, she is (imho) the most developed character in this show(even though she doesn't really have emotions :)).

The question Ein asked Zwei was a great question. It's the same thing I'm wondering. But if he truly left his past and lives in present it's quite obvious which one he's going to choose. Somehow I doubt that. Reiji proved many times so far he is inconsistent person.

Cal is turning into real villain, and Reiji into tragic hero. What's interesting is that, for the first time, I really can't predict what's going to happen. From ep1 up to now it was quite obvious (some details not, but heck), but now...it's all clouded by character decisions, and judging by so far, they change their mind way too often.

Anyhow, if I were to guess, and I really mean guess, I'd say Ein is going to die, Zwei is going to die, inferno will probably be destroyed before that, Drei (Cal) is going to realise what really happened and regret her decisions.

Well, this episode was for the fans of character development, and it had next to no action. I have to say that I'm extremely pleased how they displayed Cal. In order not to spoil I don't really want to comment on her directly myself, but maybe a hint is okay:

There are clear disconnects between what others say about her (SM/Lizzie), what she says about herself, and how she acts. Careful viewers should be able to pick up first clues about what's REALLY making her tick. What is REALLY driving her, and why she does what she does.

When you find these inconsistencies, ask yourself "Why did she react like THAT?" ... that might be some good practice for those viewers who are content with "they change their mind without reason", which usually indicates that they haven't really been paying close enough attention.

It is more lost trust then naivety and the fact that from her perspective it is impossible to see Reiji's reasons for doing what he did.
The fact that Reiji "confesses" what he has done with his "You have the right to kill me" rather then trying to explain something doesn't really help either.

I really, really, really hope Ellen doesn't die, she is (imho) the most developed character in this show(even though she doesn't really have emotions :)).

I myself feel that her potential was left unused. In first part, she was good (or at least promising), but then it went downhill. In chapter 2, I got a picture that her only purpose was to first serve as an invisible enemy and then give Reiji a reason to run away and make Cal hate him.
I would have liked it if her loyalty to Scyhte and loyalty to Reiji came into a conflict in chapter 2 thus giving it more drama and making their reunion more emotional, but instead they too quickly became friends again and it made it look like the only purpose of that reunion was to give Cal a reason to hate Reiji. True, there was some conflict, but it could have been used in a better way I feel.
For most of chapter 3, well it would be spoiling but let me just say that she was underused again, IMO.

I can't but feel that much more could have been done with Elen.

Cal is turning into real villain

Ironically, they cut a lot of scenes that made her look like a real villain which I am not sure I really like. It makes her turning into Drei less dramatic IMO.

What's interesting is that, for the first time, I really can't predict what's going to happen

Well, there are three endings that anime might take from the game (one of them having near 0 chances of happening, other two having equal) plus a possible anime original ending so it shouldn't surprise that it is hard to guess what happens next.

It kills me when people can't/hesitate to articulate themselves. After all of this neither Lizzie nor Reiji has told Cal the simple fact that he left because he thought she was dead. It kills me how blindly she follows scythe and her angsty-rebel without a cause-teenage mood. Picking fights for no reason, speaking like she's the shit when really she doesn't know ANYTHING about past motives and who scythe truly is.

If Cal isn't dead by episode 26 I will give this series nothing better than a 6.

Lizzie doesn't know that, and she DID try to tell Cal at least that he was protecting her in the past. I do concede though that Reiji's unwillingness to at least TRY to make her understand was the biggest source of irritation for me while playing the game.

It kills me how blindly she follows scythe and her angsty-rebel without a cause-teenage mood.

She isn't following Scythe at all, let alone blindly. Didn't you watch the subs? "Scythe no yatsu" is really no indicator that she accepts his lead in ANY way.

The "angsty-rebel without a cause" mood as you put it is Cal's way to cope - but with what exactly?

Picking fights for no reason, speaking like she's the shit when really she doesn't know ANYTHING about past motives and who scythe truly is.

Again, you're completely misreading her relationship with Scythe. Rather tell me: What ARE her motives?

However, it seems that Elen is somewhat wrong as that Reiji intends on sacrificing himself for the sake of Elen by letting Cal kill him as long as she promises to leave Elen alone. Cal definitely is unhappy hearing it,[...]

Yes. But why? Why does she react so strongly to this?

[...]not to mention that Reiji refuses to duel with her yet acknowledging her as a new Phantom while that he is a merely a student. Unfortunately, even if Reiji does that, Inferno will not acknowledge Cal as the new Phantom and neither does Cal like the idea either.

Again, why?

Oh, and Inferno already HAS accepted her as Phantom.

Reiji calls Shiga and threatens him that unless their safety is ensured, bad things will occur to their princess, even though Reiji prioritizes protecting the princess. Somehow, Cal sees this as something bad.

Tell you what, I see that as something bad too ^_^... he's blackmailing Shiga by threatening Mio. "Prioritizes protecting" her? Where's that coming from?

Cal thinks of Reiji as a liar for using Elen's wild card and also abandoning her.

Naturally. From her point of view, Reiji is cowardly using yet another girl close to him for HIS protection. And even with justification.

Prejudice? Nope, I didn't like her when she was loli because I found her annoying back then. But even though I didn't like her, I never wished her to die.

On the other hand, in last 2 episodes I developed strong hatred towards her. Not that much because of her, as because of the way she was portraited.
Just as Nayrael said: "Ironically, they cut a lot of scenes that made her look like a real villain which I am not sure I really like."
Yes, I know it's because of lost trust, but you don't go so far as to torture, molest, kill whole family because of lost trust.

As I said in my prediction, I think she will be the only one out of the three to survive, and she will be a "good girl" so to say in the end.
I understand she had some issues (clearly still has) with Reiji leaving, but did she even ask him why in this episode?
Yes, yes, hatred and all that stuff. But I think after 2 years there would be more curiosity. Simple why would be enough. She never ever asked why.

It's hard to believe she completely lost her feelings. She didn't look like that kind of person before. And now I will answer this one myself. She didn't lost her feelings, she still likes/loves him.
But heck, the way she is portraited in this episode it looked as if he killed her whole family, raped her dog and ate her kitty.

Sure, she is angry and stuff, but they went way overboard with that...

PS. I'd like to correct one thing I said. I said Reiji is inconsistent. Bad choice of words. He's not inconsistent, but rather indecisive. He still has doubts in his mind...a lot of them actually :)

Look at her conversation with Ein more closely. Also look at what she tells to Reiji when she breaks his and Mio's date.
If you look more closely, you can see her feelings towards Ein. They are not actually what people expect them to be, you see.

I'll jump into my own mouth now, and say she's just pissed off for now. I think she was waiting to see him for long time to show him what she went through because of him, and those emotions are short lasting. I may be wrong (I hope I am) and she turns into psycho maniac, but I seriously doubt that. Not based on her previous development.

Hmm, the "showdown" between Elen and Cal was less dramatic than I was hoping for =/ I liked how Elen challenged Cal's motives, but overall, it wasn't really too exciting. Cal got it right when she remarked how boring an "ending" it was.

Also, as others have said, pocket watch theme + techno beat + moaning orgasm = random and weird, and led to much "WTF?" from me while watching. And people have also commented on the unclear date scene in the park so I won't say more on that.

Kudos, though, goes to Reiji's seiyuu - I loved his voice while he was talking to Shiga xD

A couple of episodes ago, I guessed Ein will die - those scenes in the church (and talk of confessing her sins) gave me that feeling. I'm now thinking Drei might die in the end, too. Her actions are quite self-destructive (all her risk-taking) and I can picture her dying and realizing, at the last moment, the mistakes she's made about Reiji.

Well, we'll see.

So in this episode we got "crazy bitch", as Lizzie calls her, going all emo, angst, self-pitying, overconfident, self-destroying rock star, while trying to be some cool shit that can hide her true feelings. Am I watching Gundam Seed Destiny? The way new Cal is portrayed in this show reminds me of a typical satire of a teenager. But maybe that's what she is, who knows? Again they showed that she's using way too many useless movements because she's an movie fan, Elen could've shot her while she was doing that pirouette or whatever when pulling out her gun. But that wouldn't have been fun, right? :]

The "Melody" Techno Remix feat. Orgasm Over 9000 bgm was again disturbing but I don't mind since that's probably what it's supposed to be as Cal's new personality is disturbing itself, so they're just using something that suits the atmosphere.

Also did they try to make Japan look like some holy church where there's no violence, and the only ones bringing that to the holy land are horrible uncivilized Gaijins? Are they trying to say that the US (since most of the action takes place there in the beginning) is a fucked up country where people can shoot anyone they want whenever they want?

Elen is still trying to play this carefully while her sucky boyfriend is still being a faggot. Seems our girl Cal has some feelings for Elen too (yeah I'm exaggerating), Elen x Cal ending anyone? x)

I was really irritated by InfernoSubs taking "editorial license" in this one. Nobody ever said anything like "fucking," "Jesus Christ," "goddamn," etc. Also seeing the internet meme "feels good man" completely distracted me from an important Cal conversation. What the fuck guys, just do your fucking job and stop messing around.

Despite previous comments on this ep, I think they've done a really good job as far as Reiji not explaining things to Drei. In 99% of shows that bother me as much as anyone else, but they have made it perfectly clear that she is completely beyond being reasoned with. And I think Lizzie made a great attempt at trying to explain, to Drei who could kill her instantly if she pisses her off.

I can see why this unreasonableness bothers a lot of people, but as someone who has been through a lot of shit, I can tell you that sometimes Not Knowing is worse. If you don't know exactly what happened, it's impossible to deal with a problem and move on. In that situation, we tend to assume the worst thing we can imagine, if only to have a solid base from which we can walk away. I think Cal's mental state is very accurately human.

I don't think she's completely irretrievable, either. She hasn't thrown away the pocketwatch (although she has perverted it into an ugly toy for killing, which Reiji always wanted to protect her from). I predict that Reiji will get the chance to talk to the real Cal again, but getting her to that receptive state will require some blood.

What the fuck guys, just do your fucking job and stop messing around.

Wow, that's some awesome subs, may you introduce me the link? It might actually make me re-watch it just for the sake of LULZ 8-)
