Don't get me wrong, I don't mind gays. But what about the character?

Thumbs up for stupidity.

Actually, worse characters names I've seen are the names of the Americans in the BB Murder Case. Backyard Bottomslash? Really? :/

I concur with everything you said. (:

Also, Bernkastel and Belphegor are quite atrocious. Also, though it's from a Tales game and not technically an anime, the protagonist of this game is named Sennel. Fine so far, but he introduces himself and-

"I'm Sennel Coolidge."

Three friends and I were playing the game together and all burst out laughing in unison. We still laugh about it.

But the worst offence is to use a boring name that's been exhausted time and time again. Sakura might be the biggest offender, followed by Akira.

Also, search Alice under characters. There are so many freaking results. It's also used for relevant plot things (e.g "Alice Game" in Rosen Maiden, "alice" powers in Gakuen Alice). :/ I'm tired of it.

On another note, there are a lot of great names coming up in here, unfortunately. ): That is saddening. And I notice that some of you are letting biases get in the way of your answers since you immediately complain about the character and don't mention the name itself at all.

It's a stupid name.

And I don't like the name Roy Mustang from FMA, though the character in general is great. It's just when I read "Mustang" my imagination shows me a horse, not a handsome colonell x_X.

In one of the manga volumes, the mangaka said he chose Train exactly because it means train. I thought it was stupid at first, plus it rhymes with his partner's name (Sven. Train and Sven. Seriously, what), but it grew on me after a while.

I'd also like to point out Frau, Labrador and Castor from 07-Ghost. I mean, Frau (German for Mrs), Labrador (a kind of dog) and Castor (in Italian, "castoro" means "beaver"). WTF indeed.

Anyone even know what 'kotonoha' means or how it's written? Someone told me it was like, archaic Japanese or something, but I still haven't really found out what it means.

Also, I wouldn't name your daughter Kotonoha unless....well, we all know how this ends >.>

Also for whoever was complaining about Louise having a bad name, just know the series creator didn't come up with that...

"Kotonoha" is written the same way as the Japanese word for "word" (kotoba).

...

Actually, Ichigo's name is written with the kanji for "one" (ichi) and "safeguard" or "protect" (go). So his name is actually doesn't actually mean "strawberry"; it's just a pun on the word. I think his siblings' names are puns on Japanese words for fruits as well.
