Does Spice and Wolf count for a non-human main character, or would Lawrence be considered the main character? |

It has an awful score(around 2), but it wasn't that hard to watch, since it was just a single episode of 20min. |

Would Chi's Sweet Home count as an eight cour anime because it's 104 episodes long even though it only took two cour to air? Would the Yuru Yuri OVA work as a movie because it originally aired in a movie theater? Would the Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun Specials work as a two cour anime because it took two cours to air even though it's shorter than a single episode? Does Katanagatari still count as a four cour anime because it took four cours to air even though it's only 12 episodes? Would Kiss x Sis count as a 21 cour anime or a one cour anime? If we aren't using the standard definition of cours then it makes it more confusing. There's a good reason why MAL only lists a "Premier Season" for TV series. Not really. Hetalia Axis Powers CAN be used since it's 52 episodes (short, yes) long. Similar to what a 3-cour anime is. It's valid since all the episodes are in a single entry. It doesn't have to be a TV serie since any type can be used. Accepting ONAs would make Sailor Moon Crystal, Eve no Jikan, and Plastic Neesan would all count as four cour anime even though they logically shouldn't be. There She Is!! would count as a 23 cour anime even though it's only five episodes that are each five minutes long. Inferno Cop was aired similarly to a one cour anime so I think it could count as one. For an ONA which aired more quickly "Shi Xiong" only took two cour to air 41 episodes. Would you count this as a two cour anime or a three cour anime? The TV show "Daily Joke" aired one episode every day for a year. It is a four cour anime with 365 episodes. If instead of 3 months of air time we pegged "one cour" at 12.5 episodes this would turn into a 29 cour anime. Would you count Angel Beats! Specials towards the challenge since it took 18 cours to air? It's only two episodes so I personally don't think it would sense to. Although Hetalia does make a bit more sense than most ONAs giving exceptions to the rule will only complicate things further. I could see you counting LoGH as a 9 cour anime even if it did take ~40 cours to air. |

I think the goal of that challenge is more about the number of episodes of a show than the time it needed to air everything. So Angel Beats' specials wouldn't qualify for the 3-cours challenge even if it is a 18 cour per se. That's only my opinion though. |

Since it says "Watch an anime with children as the main cast", I think all the characters labeled as 'Main' have to be children. Can anyone confirm that please? If thats true, can anyone give ideas for that challenge? Yes, but what are childrens? That's what I'm asking. The other characters also seem to be young, that's why I ask. I was expecting a yes/no answer... T_T |

So even though one main character is a child, who's 11 years of age, but the rest of the main cast aren't, Paniponi Dash wouldn't count. If you're looking for a show with children as the main cast, there's Gakuen Alice. I haven't actually watched it yet, but I am reading the manga. It's a really good series. I'm not sure if the anime's good compared to the manga though. |

I am 17 years old (going to be 18 later this year). Will Shounen be the target demo-graph for me or will it be Seinen? And I wanted to know if an anime with high school students as MCs valid for anime with children as MCs. Lastly, I wanted good recommendations for these (1-2 cours would be ideal. I don't mind longer though): •an anime that focuses on non-romantic relationships •an anime that has a main character that is a professional in his field •an anime which began airing between 1917 and 1940 •an anime which began airing between 1941 and 1960 •an anime recommended to you by another Anime Watching Challenge participant |

So wait, would Durarara!! x2 count as a three-cours anime? I mean if I watch all three of them (Shou, Ten, Ketsu)? |

Oh, well now I'm confused. I mean I took the definition of a cour as "One of the four conventional three-month periods of television broadcasting in Japan (January to March; April to June; July to September; October to December)" from here, but now I'm awfully confused. Could you please exemplify how MAL decides what a cour is? Just so that I could choose which anime to watch for this sub-challenge. Thank you! EDIT Ryouky said: The challenge is not, to watch a one-/two-/three-cour anime, but to watch a one-/two-/three-cour anime in length. So just an anime that has the same number (or more) of episodes as a usual one-/two-/three-cour anime. Taking that into account, I chose Chi's Sweet Home for the three-cours or more anime, would that work now? Thank you!! |

On an unrelated note, if I had an anime on-hold since last year but I hadn't watched any episode from it before 2016, will that anime count for my completion of this challenge? Thank you! [Short explanation for who cares: I place on-hold every anime that I want to watch in the very near future, and I place on plan-to-watch every anime that I might want to watch some time, who-knows-when.] |

But if you watched at least one episode or more before the challenge period, you can't use it. |

I have a few questions, although I have no idea if they have been asked yet. 1. For the "Watch an anime with a character voiced by one of your favorite seiyuu" does it specifically have to be a Japanese voice actor or can it be English? 2. For "Watch an original anime" does it mean one that has not been adapted from anything and the series originally started as an anime? 3. Where exactly is the line drawn between seinen and shounen? |

Any 2. Yes. You can also watch shows that started as anime an have been adapted to another medium (manga or so) later on. 3. It's not quite clear, but I think everyone is fine if you draw the line at 18yo. |

I think that it depends, 18~20 seems like a sort of "transitioning" age that both genres apply to. Maybe you should go with whatever you feel fits more with your age, if it's either something aimed for adults or young boys. |
