| Due to some changes in the content distribution network on MAL, user avatars/images/profile pics/wallpapers (basically everything) will have delays in when they update. This could take 5 minutes or 5 hours. Rest assured I'm looking in to making it update quicker, but right now, it's a problem I haven't been able to fix. So in a nutshell, please be patient if your newly uploaded picture doesn't change. I have tried to replace the picture after the 5 minutes has gone with exactly the same picture i want to change to then there goes another 5 minutes....then i delette my current picture and try the new one that i'm into7want to change...nothing happenns expext that it says saved , wait 5 minl ike before....but when that time has psased it still is my current picture i'' see. offline and online watching my own page/usr.. if all that text was from 2007 about you looking ino it and try to fix things. how come when it's 2012 still probölems? geez:< sorry for being rude but i guezz problems come with irritation or stuffs^^ |

| Wow, I just got this problem just now. I changed my avatar last night and it revert back to the old pic just now EDIT: Just changed the pic to png and re-uploaded it. New avatar is up and running again |

| A problem I have had since August is that new avatars don't show. For me avatars just get stuck. Sometimes they update, but usually I just see old avatars. I see one I used back in August as mine. |

A bit of an odd solution is to use Opera and enable Opera Turbo it will usually show the new avatar. |

Your case is indeed a bit strange, the first 1-2 days it was the Halloween one, then some days constantly the other one, now it's again the Halloween one. I don't know, maybe it's now stable. Which one was it for you and which one now? One thing that might help is to remove the avatar completely and wait maybe 1-2 weeks, then upload a new one. I've never tested it, but it might be worth the try. I can't tell you more about how it's working and why it's not working properly than what I wrote here at the beginning of the post. Also, I wrote in that post that it doesn't really work with .gif images. In your case the solution is probably easy: you don't have an animated avatar, so there's no need to use a .gif file extension. Upload your new avatar as .jpg or .png and you will have less or no problems. Edit: I just saw this, your new avatar is an animated gif... then I don't know what can help, sorry. |

But I went on 2 different computer cafes and when I tried to check my avatar, it shows that my avatar is the avatar that I used before(http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee420/WinterKonata/Kyouchan1.png). So I'm starting to wonder which avatar do people see if it's the current one or the old one. |

| Well, my problem only applies on some computer in random cafes that I go. On my computer in my house, What I see is the recent avatar so I have no problems. I was just wondering which one do people see. But then, what you see is my recent one yet I don't know why this bug happens when I'm going to login on a computer which is not mine. |

But you can't when in certain places. ... sounds like its connection if your using your lap top, if not then it might be the computers them selves. | So from some further testing this is what i found in my case. - if i change my current forum pic to another .jpg, it instantly changes. For instance my last pic was a pic of Teknoman, but now it should be of Soul Reaver - if i put a .gif image at any time for avatar, it reverts back the old one dont matter what - the server seems to save my last avatar and keeps reverting back to it as soon as i change it to a .gif..., with a .jpg it instantly changes. So my question is: are .gif just broken for my profile or are other ppl in the same boat? cuz im seeing other ppl change they avatar from gif to gif and have no problem. Mines keep reverting if i use .gif but works perfectly for .jpg :S |
