| Wow, what another great episode. Love to see them all in kimonos, but wow great episode, since talks about putting your weaker players against your opponent's stronger ones so your stronger players can win (Hikaru no Go ... lol). Feel bad for Kana and Desktomu (I forget his name ... OTL) :S Wow, Taichi is pretty amazing though. His head patting and knowing what to do with Desktomu ... he's a leader for sure XD Was I feeling a little Kana/Desktomu at the end there? Lol :P Anyways so they face the red team, who has that sadist ... kind of weird LOL O_O Excited for the next episode :D |

| Chihaya was able to win even with a mental collapse. lol This anime keeps getting better and better with each and every passing episode. Once I got most the rules down it got so much more interesting! Love it. ^-^ Funny part is, I got the rules down and everything, I understand the concept of the game, but if I were to try and play it myself I would probably suck terribly. This game isn't cut out for someone like me (my memorization skills suck), though I would love to try it some day. xD |

| the group now wears kimono :D Chihaya is texting Arata too much :\ Retro hair is there!! i do feel bad to Desk-kun getting pounded at the beginning and he's just being toss around by the team :( however i don't like how he even said Kana's win was just pure luck. you don't say that to Kana-chan!!! Chihaya having a hard time at first :( she's feeling the same pressure as Desk-kun :( that stupid Sudo-san should not touch Chihaya. i hope she beats him badly in the next match. that tap by Taichi!!! great to see Taichi being the captain and leading the way!!! nice comeback Chihaya!!!!! im glad Desk-kun apologized to Kana and everyone ;) Mizusu Fighto!!!! my favorite scenes. next episode Chihaya or Taichi should own that Sudo douchebag. and i actually don't mind Arata not appearing, i bet he'll appear more towards the end or in season 2. |
| Kimonos~ Chihaya and Taichi looked especially good in their kimonos!! Hmm i guess this episode illustrates how they are not really a team yet and also about Chihaya's weakness... Hopefully she wont be like that when facing tough opponents! Taichi's been gaining my favours lately (well, since the last episode).. The way he encouraged his team was so touching...! |

| 5/5 Plot good step. Taichi always present at key moments, beautiful growth. Chihaya a little in the shade, nice contrast interior resulting from the different results on the field. Engaging narrative, Kana has had his fifteen minutes of fame! All the characters are well characterized. Romance well balanced, I always cheer for ChihayaXArata! Drawings and animations good! : D |

| Chihaya's comeback was amazing, and that Sudo guy thought she was losing on purpose because she was a sadist. Chihaya would've crushed that girl easily since she's that good. Retro-kun is back I feel bad for Desktomu because he lost twice and didn't get a single card. He came back so it wasn't a total lost. |

| It was basically Porky's fault that Desktomu got upset since he just kept bringing up his idea of having Desktomu face the strongest opponents since he's most likely gonna lose to their weakest members anyway. Its like all the Arata fangirls are clinging onto this 'girlfriend' with all their might so that Chihaya x Arata pairing may have a chance. Wondering what's happened to Taichi's girlfriend which basically stopped him in the first episode from making any progress with Chihaya =/= fangirl. Calling other people fangirls for making reasonable posts related to a character you root for = fangirl. |

| Kamano-kun told Chihaya harsh, yet true words. I'm glad he didn't act like a naive guy who is ready to be treated like a throwaway karuta player only to make others have a team food five people. I'm also glad he returned after all. He can still be useful and if he practices more, he will surely succeed in karuta. Taichi acted alright as a boss. I still don't like him, so I'm happy that he is a simp, while Arata gets whole Chihaya's attention. |

When I was watching this ep, the whole team's mindset was to win but they didn't regard how others will feel; I felt like it was poor sportsmanship. I know what it's like to feel left out and felt like I was just a number...I'm glad they made up though. |

Sure, nothing's wrong bout having a passion for it but come on, if you're gonna have a club, make them feel welcome, not the other way around. She's a captain, right? She definitely doesn't fit that role at this point. I hope the upcoming episodes or so, she'll improve on this. |
| First big tournament! Chihaya looks great in traditional attire. Looking forward to seeing her wear it more. Taichi's words of encouragement really helped the team out. I'm still a little disappointed in Chihaya; she's an A class karuta player and she let a little scuffle affect her mental state. |

| Not really a big fan of an episode starting out with a team on a wavelength, then having some interpersonal drama happen all for it to be resolved within the same episode, likely without lasting consequences. It's just something I've seen too often especially as fillers or in episodic shows, so seeing it here, where it is supposed to be neither, is even a bit more jarring. It makes me wonder if the writer just couldn't come up with something interesting for the start of the tournament, which considering this is the first one makes me a bit hesitant in general as to how good the competitive karuta bits will be. I assume it'll be good once we get in to singles and here was just a clumsy attempt at solidifying team spirit for the future, but I still wish this would have been done better. Either way, we're through to the finals and apparently Retro will be waiting there. I'll admit that I thought he was about 50 when he first appeared, so him being in high school is a surprise to me. Also Oe won a match and everybody looks good in traditional garments, I guess. ...oh, and I feel like Chihaya should get her falling asleep checked out. She's out of it way too fast for that to be normal... Don't want Season 3 to be some sort of brain tumor arc or something like that. (Although I'll admit that I have no idea what medical condition would actually cause those symptoms.) |
