But -ratm is the good nu metal

You think?
I always made that statement with Deftones..

Haven't listened to Deftones, people say they're good, but it's been years since I was into metal, so it's like I don't care anymore.

You have a recomendation?

Mmh, in my opinion the very first 2 albums are worth listening..

Then they went downhill.

Please don't. The genre wasn't even established yet when they debuted. Rage is not classified as Nu and never will be.

While they actually are away from the typical Nu bands, like Korn, Limp Bizkit or Drowning Pool, the fact that they use rap in their lyrics, the hip-hop influences and the experimentation from Morello make them more "nu" than simple "alt"

Don't wanna sound like a dick, but you need to work on your sub-genres. Rap Metal is it's own genre, which many claim Rage as being the founder of. Rap Metal helped lay the groundwork for what we know as Nu Metal, which is considered a sub-genre of both Alt and Rap Metal. My guess is that you are citing Morello's distortion techniques mixed with Zack's vocal style, as a reason why they should be considered Nu Metal, but a large part of what distinguishes the two from each other is the difference in rhythm and occasional lack thereof.

I say this as an avid and longtime fan that grew up with both Rage and Korn. Two different bands, two different styles, two different sounds, two different genres. And I like them both.

Also, and I'm not saying I don't listen to anything by them...because I do...but the fact that you would even try to lump Rage into the same genre category as Linkin Park...makes me shudder.

You may be right.

But, just to clear out, I'm not putting RATM and Linkin Park in the same category, while I consider both of them alike, I don't put'em under the same bag.

I may think that Slayer and Metallica are thrash, but I don't think they're equal

It may have been hasty of me to think you meant it that way, but it actually does bug the hell out of me when anyone labels Rage as Nu. Because they really aren't.

Can't Hold Us by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Usually I get annoyed by modern Rap but I guess I'll have to make an exception.

What's with Weeaboo kids and not understanding that Rap is a giant genre?

Comparing Macklemore to "modern rap" like Soulja Boy is like comparing Johnny Cash to Brad Paisely.

Johnny Cash was a country music artist, but he didn't churn our the terrible shit Brad Paisely or George Strait call music.

Learn to expand your horizons.

One, I'm aware that Rap is a big genre, at least the mainstream stuff. Two, I wasn't trying to make any comparisons, I was just giving my views.

I suffer from severe anxiety :/ but I'm slowly getting to grips with dealing with it :) So next time you're stressed, take a step back, inhale and laugh :D Remember WHO you are and why you've come this far. I don't believe in god or the like, but I do believe that no challenge we face is impossible to complete, no mountain too high, no load too heavy :D Be flexible, make time for the things you enjoy. Love yourself and love others, just remember, life is a beautiful rollercoaster. There are the awesome highs and the scary lows, just remember - keep moving forward, roll with the punches :)

Bring me the Horizon - Suicide Season

I love metal, but just feel nothing for deathcore. Suicide season, it's different, there's like a part were there's nothing but soft whispering, just makes me feel at peace with myself.

I suppose i could look up lyrics, since i don't know Japanese. But I think that would entirely ruin the feeling her voice conveys. I don't know why i enjoy this, i don't listen to this music, as a kid i mocked this type of music. BUTITISSOGOOD.

there are indeed songs i wouldn't listen to with certain people, just because they wouldn't like it as much as i do. like i wouldn't listen to this girls generation song with older adults, but with certain people i think will like it (girls maybe kpop fans idk) why not

being ashamed of enjoying what you're listening to is kind of silly to me. but yeah with an audience/other people is a different story

So, a lot of people are ashamed of Linkin Park?

Hmm....I've got a bunch of their songs on my iPod, never once felt shame.

Anyways....I don't actually feel shame for any of the songs I like, even songs I know are considered "bad" but I enjoy, I still don't feel the shame.

"The Barbie song" by Aqua for example.....I love that shit!

"I'm too sexy" by Right Said Fred, fuck yeah!

"Bad Romane" and "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga....Yes Sir!

Zero Shame.
