What clean ending. Very sad to that the anime took the easy way out.

All that cycle of revenge, and violence, stuff is bullshit since the main characters just overcame it like that? Mika rekt and killed Carta, so the next episode SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE JUXTAPOSITION of Tekkadan now receiving casualties in the same manner, on top of those kids willingly committing suicide via being distractions.

But no, we got the usual Shonen bullshit, and only the manipulated Gaelio, and Ein, suffer at the hands of corruption, and violence.

I mean seriously, YOU COULDN'T KILL OFF EVEN ONE OF THOSE THREE CHARACTERS?!?! This creative team sure is a cowardly lot.

Sure Kudelia would've succeeded in her mission, but Tekkadan should've been in shambles, and distraught after that horrific battle.

6/10 for the episode, mainly because of McGillis, Kudelia's speech and the battles. McGillis saved this season finale, and he is the ONLY, ONLY, ONLY reason to look forward to season 2. Nothing else is interesting enough, but him.
I don't think there that Cowardly they were able to kill off Biscuit who was like the 4th most important character and was the brains for Takkedan.

I liked how McGillis mentioned what I said last episode (but in a better way), that it was hypocritical of the Gjallarhorn to have rejected the Alaya-Vijnana system, yet creating something totally beyond that. By extension, it means that they don't care for their own values and instead do whatever it takes to complete their goals. Gaelio wasn't a bad person, but his acceptance of what Ein had become showed that he was not much different from the organization he also knew as corrupted. It was good when they showed Gjallarhorn soldiers saying that their mobile suit was like a demon.

Kudelia's speech was great, but Orga's speech stole the spotlight, telling Tekkadan to live. The bgm at that part was perfect. The part where Orga was apologizing to Naze was sort of touching, that those who died died in the place Orga made for them. While it would be most ideal for everyone to have lived, it's not realistic, and at least they did things willingly in a place that was like their family.

A shame that Mika lost eyesight on his right eye and can no longer move his right arm, but that's the most realistic route for what he did to push Barbatos this episode. Although everyone else who looked like they got injured worse in battle are in a better shape than he is... It was cute when he said that the bracelet Atra made for him saved his left arm. And also when he told Kudelia not to cry, but instead he was the one being consoled this time.

Best part has to be when Orga and Mika's lines were reversed for once, Orga being the one asking "what should I(we) do?" And Mika answering. Love their fist bump. Before it was always Orga leading, but now it feels like both.

Gordon and McMurdo though. So glad there's a continuation :')

Great series and a satisfying finale.

The whole season ended up being an escort mission, but that actually made it original and fun to watch.

It's that Shonen BS that was why Ein got rekt at the end. Why couldn't Ein just pull off the same trick Mika? Because Mika is the protagonist.

Because Mika has the better robot. There's your answer.

Pretty much all the main series Gundam MCs have the best Gundam if someone haven't noticed it yet. The best Gundam's power always comes in handy when the MC is in a pinch except this time, Mika actually paid the price for it with his right eye and arm.

Glad that Makanai Togonosuke became prime minister of Arbrau again. Too bad Char killed Garuma again! I see Roy Fokker making sure his subordinates are ok. Good show. And the best part is that fat pig Biscuito-kun died LMFAO! Cookie and Cracker are going to be crybabies just like Almiria was with Gaelio.

Wow Ein got pwned losing piece by piece, McGillis being the asshole of this series was quite interesting to watch and how Mika got injured by using too much the Alaya-Vijnana System on Barbatos was also interesting.

This series was a fun ride but it could be better so let's see how things will turn out in the second season. 7/10

I'm pretty sure this episode while ending happy spelled out a really horrible fate lying ahead of mika, The alaya vijnana system taking away functions of his body will probably happen more and more as the series goes on. Gundma MC's have absurd amounts of plot armor but mika could very well be on the chopping block by shows end and i wouldnt be surprised if he winds up like ein near the end of the last 5 episodes.

was worried about a new gundam at the start but this turned out pretty decent

couldn't help but feel bad at times for the Enemy i mean Gaelio's was a real honest guy sucks he had to "die" for the sake of Mcgillis ideals.

while this ending for the first season was good Mcgillis with all the cold hearted big plays was the highlight really interested in his role for season 2

happy the trio made it before the announcement i was expecting at least one more person to die though mika having 1 less arm and a weak eye is something to think about for the future.

And so IBO ends. But the question is,

- so Shino, Lafter & Aji survived..
- Did Mcgillis killed Galieo?
- Noblesse gordon & mcmurdo will be the next threat?
- Is Ein finally dead?!
- RIP Biscuit..

I came in watching, expecting Tekadan to emerged victorious and that what I got. Didn't ask for more and finally Ein is dead also that other guy I forgot his name. Well I have enough of Gundam. Don't think I will be looking forward to the 2nd season.

Great ending although I had some issue with ep. 16/17 when Kurdelia aid died, overall a great story. 10/10

It's over, i've never seen Gundam and i always thought that it was bad, but after watching this, i'm actually amazed by the Gundam series, i don't know if the others are so good as this one but i'm sure that i will check other Gundam animes too.
That fight!!! Mikazuki is such a badass!! He was always the last hope of Tekkadan when they need him, he always appears in the last moment to save them.
So happy to know that after 25 episode, they finally completed their first mission xD
In the end, i'm still confused, McGillis was on Tekkadan's side or no? That was somehow confusing for me, and even in the end when he was hugging Gaelio's sister, i was like "wtf?". At least he was one of the few that helped them.
It was a great ending and i'm happy by it, this anime deserves a 9/10 or maybe a 10/10, who knows ;)

Good Job boys!

That scene was fantastic! Mika & Orga!

So happy to know that there will be a 2nd season! Can't wait!!

I guess since we never see his ein's corpse, we never know. Just like last time we didn't see Lafter's yet she survived with the slightest injury which it makes me wondering is he/she dead?! or something.

Same goes as Galieo, we never see his corpse but judging by his condition like that, it's likely he is indeed dead

After having been burned by Age and Reconguista, when I saw that there was a new Gundam, I wasn't all that interested in trying Iron-Blooded Orphans.

But in the end I was really glad that I tried it, because I think this has to be hands down one of the best Gundam series ever. It took Sunrise a long time to adapt, but it finally learned to ground Gundam in reality. Whoever directed the series and wrote the script also tried really hard to make sure that everything was clear and made sense to the audience. But even while doing so it retained the high-minded idealism we often see from other series, which is why I think it should appeal to both long-time fans and newcomers.

Seed and 00, I liked the characters so no matter what happened with plot I was going to keep following--and we can't deny that there was some serious BS with the plot in both of these relatively new and relatively popular series. With IBO, both the cast and the plot were compelling me to keep going. It's a great series standing alone, but compared to the rest of the Gundam franchise, definitely one of the best out there. I'm also just very glad that they decided to pump out a season 2 instead of trying to squeeze a massive plot into 1 season like they did with Reconguista.

On a separate note, looks like we're going for ending with both Atra and Kudelia? Looks that way for sure after the setups.

I don't have much to add to what others have said. It was a pretty good episode all around and a decent wrap-up for season one. The lack of deaths is not an issue imo since it kills the suspense if a single outcome happens every time things take a bad turn. I liked that the Gundam tropes were played with a bit. I do wish they had fleshed out the political side a tad more like cupc mentioned, and I agree with tingy on pretty much everything she posted.

Although I find it fairly unlikely, it would be interesting if the theory someone mentioned earlier in the thread about Gaelio surviving/becoming the actual Char turned out to be true.

Hopefully the themes from this season will be picked up in the next. Mika clearly crossed a line in episode 23 and it seemed like it could have interesting implications for Tekkadan, as well as providing a contrast for McGillis. I wouldn't want to see that squandered.

I'm with you on this theory. Pushing Barbatos further and further will probably cannibalize his whole body at some point and he'll end up in a similar state to Ein (in terms of body/mecha co-dependency) if he continues to do so. In the long term he stands a good chance of dying.

Although to be fair, early on it looked like Orga was going to die by the end of this season and by now it doesn't look like that will even happen next season, so who knows.

Well it was an okay ending.

I'm really disappointed with how they made Ein end up as some some annoying Crank-obsessed psycho. I actually liked him, at one point, as a character.

And wow. Lafter, Azee, and Shino survived. I guess Okada doesn't have the heart to kill off her own characters even after that bloody animation. I'd rather see Gaelio survive than the other three tbh and I like those three. That's saying something lol I really like Gaelio. He was a good guy qwq

One cannot just defeat the Mika. He always emerges victorious even if the enemy uses the perfect form of the system he's using =w=;;

Looking forward to season two and whatever the heck Chocolate Man is going to do next. He's an interesting character to watch over. Sakupyon almost reminded me of Makishima because of the way he voiced him in this episode LOL

Wow. A happy ending was pretty much what I expected least. And to think in the last battle, only Ein and Gaelio ended up dying.

McGillis stays on his path. It's easy to hate him, but at least he was blunt about the truth with Gaelio at the end. No bullshit for his only friend. Carta and Gaelio will both be sorely missed.

Can't see well out of his right eye and can't move his right hand, huh? After basically going through the season unscathed from pushing the alaya-vijnana connection with Barbatos to the limit, Mikazuki suffering real consequences from his experience is something I think was a pro.

Azee is so reserved. Definitely my favorite of the Turbines.

If only Biscuit was there at the end with Mika and Orga. If he were alive, I'm sure he'd be proud of them.

EDIT: After re-watching the episode, I'd say Gaelio's and McGillis' battle was the better of the two. They were both great and were built up for the duration of the entire show, but the former was more meaningful. It's hard not to feel bad for Gaelio, at least Carta died thinking her beloved McGillis had ridden onto the battlefield like a shining knight to save her. That final confrontation between Gaelio and McGillis though... just awesome stuff.

Ein on the othe hand is despicable, but also pitiable too. Not much depth to his character. Mikazuki has been killing dudes all season...

On the other hand, he certainly hasn't been slicing up guys... I said the first episode we saw his katana that he'd be super potent if he ever learned to use it. I just didn't expect it to be the last episode, with Mika taking down a Frankenstien cyborg super-boss XD

Tekketsu no Kizuna has really grown on me. I certainly wouldn't have minded hearing Orphans no Namida one last time though :)

Aside from the twat that was Ein being forced through out the series on us the show so far was pretty damn awesome. Like seriously holy fucking shit he was beyond annoying in his cliche spouting bull. Makes me miss some of the older Gundamns with decent rivals/antagonist... Well I guess he was just a pure pawn in here. Even saying as such he is pretty much a true representation of war.

Oh. My, a lot less died in this episode then I would have ever imagined.

Anyways, goodness McGillis. That is oh so rotten, but I loved it very much. Made him very, VERY interesting in my eyes, so call me crazy, but he's overall one of my most favorite characters. I feel terrible for Gaelio, his sister, and Ein, but still. lol

I honestly thought Mika was gonna die, but he did not. Alright then. A relief, for me. So then, the ones who looked like they were dead or gonna die were alright after all. Been a while since I've last seen this in a Gundam anime.

I'll give this a 7.8. That would have rounded to an 8, but it's still a 7, so I'll give it a 7. I've enjoyed this one overall. I doubt there will be a season 2, though. Doesn't look like it'll happen to me. EDIT: Oh, there IS going to be a sequel? I never would have imagined. Seems to me like this would have been a nice way of ending the whole thing, but I guess not? I don't know how they will take it from here. Well, all I can imagine is that McGillis will take a much larger role in it, I'm pretty confident. I'm interested in seeing how he will be. Likely as a main antagonist. Or not. Don't really know.

On a side note, I never knew it aired yesterday. Thought it would air this Saturday since that's what I usually see when it comes to the final episode of an anime; that being that the last episode of it airs at the very next week of the same day of the week.

So they are actually alive huh. That was... rather disappointing.

I mean I like them, but it was just wrongly booked.

Anyway, the antagonists in this season are not threatening IMO, mainly because Mikazuki is overpowered. C'mon, give this guy a striking weakness.

I have honestly no idea on how they would continue the next season. The only foundations for S2 that I could think of are Kudelia and McGillis (Though I don't think McGillis would be the next enemy since he's also trying to shake Gjallarhorn).

I'll just have to wait I guess.

I think the thing I dislike the most is that one side suffered much heavier losses than the other. Sure Tekkadan suffered "loses" aka a bunch of no name, unimportant characters while Gjallahorn lost officers, commanders and through Carta and Gaelio, members from the top of their leadership. Tekkadan lost...... biscuit, an accountant and fumitan, a maid. Someone from tekkadan's main combat force should have died, and someone from the turbines....

After the deaths in Schwarzesmarken, I'm glad Sunrise had mercy on us. Azee, Lafter & Shino made it out alive, and Orga & Mika didn't bite the dust either. Seems they were content with Biscuit's death(R.I.P.).

Mika got a bit crippled I guess but it's a small price to pay.

I did feel bad for Gaelio though, and wouldn't mind seeing McGillis get taken down a peg or two in the 2nd season.

All that being said...

I certainly get your point and feel kinda similar about this, though I don't think it's that bad considering we're getting a 2nd season and these characters are gonna stick around for a while longer - perhaps this was needed. I certainly wouldn't mind a less clean ending for it's 2nd season though.

Nice finale to the season, They wrapped up the elections pretty decently.

Never expected McGillis to kill Gaelio, McGillis is turning out to be the most interesting character of the series. Very interested in seeing what he plans on doing.

Katana Barbatos FTW, Well played Mika! Glad you killed Ain.
That scene with Barbatos's head, MIka and Orga post fight was just beautiful.

Glad that Lafter Azee and Shino are still alive :D

Loved the "You have to be the one to keep believing in what you said" that Naze told Orga.
Naze and Orga best bro's after Orga and Mika of course.

The end with Mika's indifferent comments about his condition was fuuny xD

Now that was a pretty good finale. A simple, fierce battle to the death between two Iron-Blooded Orphans (lol) with the fate of Gjallarhorn and Tekkadan at stake.
Kudelia impressed me with her speech as well, a lot less cringy that her style at the start of the series. She's definitely grown... I can proudly say that I SHIP KUDELIA X MIKA!!!!
(And Shino x Yamagi, and Lafter x Akihiro. What can I say? It's chemistry.)
A little disappointed by the supposed death scenes last episode tho... While it seemed pretty likely that Shino was alive, there's really no way that Lafter AND Azee should've made it out. We saw BLOOD from one of them, and the other got their suit's head completely bashed in.
That's my only real complaint with the episode... but I think it's a pretty big one. If they're unwilling to even upset the status quo this much in S1, then how will S2 fare? There was a pretty dull period for me from episodes 10 through 17 or so... hopefully they don't just toss a bunch of random black-and-white villains at us like 00 S2. Complexity and tragedy are necessary for a good story too, Okada.

The thing i'm eager to see in the 2nd half of the show ill be mcgillis, he has so much potential as an antagonist/char clone. Main antagonists in gundam shows are usually a mixed bag leaning more towards bad but he genuinely seems like he could be a really phenomenal villain.

I am so happy Shino's still alive though! I'm hoping Yamagi has a chance to confess before one of them dies.

I also really like how Orga asked Mika what they should do this time.

A much happier ending than I thought overall but I'm sure they're saving all the blood for season two.

Hopefully Ein stays dead this time around.
I wasnt on board for a second season at first, but after that finale I'm itching for more.

If you forgot, he only accepted it because McGillis manipulated him into it. And even McGillis needed several attempts to finally succeed.
So no, he wasn't corrupted. He just trusted McGillis too much.

How the fuck they are survive, maybe Ein survive too lol

Why are so many people surprised? We saw their bodies in last ep, none were dismembered or struck fatal blows (I guess that even insane, Ein instinctively fought to incapacitate rather than kill).

Azee lives! I am a happy man.

Great end to a great season for this anime. Glad I'm not the one who has to give the bad news to Cookie and Cracker (and Grandma).

Ah, I didn't mean that he was corrupted, just that he was not much different from Gjallarhorn in terms of not having solidified values. Yes I know that at first Gaelio was shocked by what Ein became and was somewhat manipulated by McGillis, but he also accepted it. No one told him to say later on that Ein is the perfect form of Alaya-Vijnana system. But yeah, I agree that McGillis played a big part in his acceptance of Ein.
