High School DxD (light novel)
| If I have to make a prediction, I'll say season 3 will be out on mid 2015 but that is if they decide to make it :) |

| There's no doubt there's going to be a season 3 with DxD's popularity. Most likely if DxD keeps being awesome like it is the sales will go up and up and the entire light novel series will be animated one day. Fall 2014 actually seems like the most likely time for Season 3, with an OVA or 2 over the early 2014/summer 2014, but either way I can't wait for Highschool DxD Season 3~! |

| They honestly need to animated at least through 12. And if they do I hope the end one season as a cliffhanger like vol 11 or 12. IS just kind of threw Madoka shooting Ichika into a random middle episode wasting a good cliff hanger. It really lost the impact of the light novel. |

| Ive heard varying opinions from many different people and it seems that the most agreeable thing is that the series will more than likely be given its next season with the next 6 - 8 months. All we can do is hope that the studio decides to continue the series ;D Oh does anyone know any good animes based off of the interest in highschool dxd? |

| I think sales are not an issue both vol. 1 and 2 broke 6-7000 in just their first week just on blu ray. Im pretty sure the mythical 5-10,000 mark that is always brought up is over the course of all volumes not per volume. If shows needed to put 10 k per volume we would have maybe 2 sequels period. Im also thinking sometime in 2014 for the next season. |

Second of all, the sales are averaging at least 7 K per volume, so sales are good and its a popular LN series. Lastly there is material around for at least 2 to 3 more seasons. The majority of the things you have mentioned have long been resolved and the plot has moved on to bigger and better things. Please at least read replies in a thread to make sure you are contributing something worth while, not spouting some random nonsense or parroting something that has already been covered several times over. |

| Actually, Ishibumi does supervise the anime's creation. Taking into account every LN volume so far, they have enough material for 5 more seasons outside the short story volumes (excluding vol15 and the last short story in vol8 considering both are important to the plot). Since the LN is very popular and the season 2 BD/DVD sales are doing very well, there will definitely be a season 3, which I'm looking forward to when it is finally announced (and of course, when it airs!) |
| The chance of them adapting all the novels is VERY low. Actually, I have never seen any studio doing like 7 seasons of an ecchi anime. They would have to, if they continue with the current pace at least. Heck, 7 seasons of any anime is really rare. If this was Gundam, then perhaps, lol. |

| Well I'm not sure if this would make a difference, but starting with volumes 5-6 (which would be season 3) the plot actually gets really good. As far as I have seen not a lot of ecchi shows have a good plot so that could influence the number of seasons, assuming it continues to be the success it currently is (which it most likely will). |

| i have a pretty good feeling that we may see another season. if not perhaps they will do something similar to what happened to Hellsing Ultimate: 50 minute ovas. There are still some loose ends that need to be wrapped up with second season: the red vs white dragon battle, Issei getting his familiar, Issei learning how to control his powers along with the other sacred gear hosts. not to mention it seems as though a new enemy called Ophis has entered the scene. if there isnt a third season someone will pay in blood ;P |

| There better be a season 3. The story in the anime haven't even scratched the tip of the iceberg in what the Light Novels is already in story-wise. And like Newhopes said, most of the main cast haven't been introduced yet. |

Well I didn't mean they are completely without say and it depends on the project. But as you saw in Bakuman, unless the author wields a lot of clout, the studio can end up doing pretty much whatever it wants, reason why you often get a lot of pissed of authors. At the end of the day, with the exception of probably Akira Toriyama and Eichiro Oda, nobody has that much influence unless the studio wants it. Hell even Rumiko Takahashi, still hasnt had Rinne green lit for an anime, despite here having 4 100 plus episode anime that all made it to the US, on top of another 2 or 3 12-26 episode anime. Also the only reason we have never seen a 7 season run is two fold, Light novel adaptations are relatively new thing, and quality ends up dropping. Besides off of the top of my head Natsume's book of friends is on season 4. Zero's Familiar had 4 seasons, and honestly lets not kid ourselves the last 3 were bad. Tenchi sort of , it has 3 ovas, the gxp 26 ep sequel, and then the 13 count 45 min episode run of Geminar (so it basically also had 26 episodes). Magical Index has 2 season of index, 2 of railgun, 1 movie, and I am guessing they will be doing at least another season of index and probably railgun. So it does happen. |

| I think they would probably make a 3rd season. Since they actually introduced a new race - not Fallen Angel, not Devil and not Angel - towards the end of the last episode. They have to properly let us know what this new faction means! :) |
| I think there will be an season 3 for sure but im not sure when will it come i read 15 volumes out of 16 but there will be more volumes and the anime season 2 ended at 4 volume soo theres a lot of plot and i still want to watch the anime i think it will be or in June or in September 2014.And i would like an 24 ep season 3 couse i think the 12 ep per season is realy bad atleast for me theres a lot of side story and main story they can make 10 years of anime per 24 eps.And even more if the wrighter doesent stop the series.And man the first episode will be awsome i read the 5 volume man i cant wait. |
| Some volumes are side stories, so those can be released as ovas. But definitely would like to see at least a 20 ep season 3. |

| Yup, what Newhopes said. Basically with her appearance, Highschool DxD Season 3 is now unofficially confirmed. Now to wait for the official confirmation, plus info on whether it'll be 2-cour or not. |

| I would not say that is a confirmation. Plenty of anime have stuffed in characters introduced in the end, and some even gone so far as show what amounts to season 2 previews, Crime Edge is one that comes to mind, and then nothing. I still remember detective loki ragnarock introduced Loki's wife in the last second. I mean Ophius was mentioned earlier in one of the season 2 episodes anyway. So I honestly dont take much stock in that. Do I think season 3 is guaranteed, sure? But I will wait until an announcement that says in black and white Season 3 is official. |
