This is amazing news. This way they'll be able to tell the story well and pan it out.

That's a good thing, one movie can't cover 60+ hours of a game with a huge amount of story.

Even if they make it multiple movies, I can't help but seeing it still rushed.

If you exclude the battle gameplay, persona fusing (which took me hours every time i went to that damn velvet room), social link, unrelated events, the core story isn't nearly that long. They're probably gonna animate 'Answer' part as well.

But this is indeed good news, i like how persona franchise is getting larger these days, it's my most favorite game series after all (still drooling over P4G since i don't have a Vita <_<)

I haven't played any of the Persona games, but since I've watched P4, I guess I'll give this a try. :)

You have absolutely no idea what you have missed, long story short the top best games of the 2000 decade, not mentioning Shin Megami tensei Digital devil saga has been chosen as the game of the decade by a couple sites like rpgfan (and mnay fans), and every single soul agrees that persona 3 revolutioned the rpg genre.

Before even watching the movie find time to play the games man promise it's worth it the games are amazing and you can start anywhere so basically if you want to play Persona 3 get persona 3.
The great thing about the series is you don't need to play the games in order.

I don't understand, why? The game itself had no story. They could easily fit everything into one 2-2.5 hour long movie.

You really don't know anything about SMT series do you? Which one did you play anyway? All of the games have amazing storyline.

Lol obviously played just one ....all the SMT stories are amazing since the first SMT persona game and all the SMT franchise. Their story is what sells the series.

Wow, really? There is no way you even played two seconds of the game in question then. The entire game was an incredibly long story with loads of characters, dialogue, plot, etc. To say Persona 3 had no story just. I dont even. What are you even doing.

But how are they ever going to put this in a movie and make it good? the game itself starts out as a monster a month until we were eventually filled into the back story. There's just not enough material to justify a movie production.

don't get me wrong, i'm super excited, but i just don't see how this can turn out well

I supposed they will be skipping the social link beside the main casts, not like I have problem with it. I hope the soundtrack would be as awesome as the original.

Yes, P3 is a wonderful game - I hope they can really do it justice with this movies. Because if they do, it's gonna be totally awesome.

As far as story progressing is concerned, i don't think social link contribute much. Sure, they're still necessary for the plot since they represent the power of bonds that make MC's inner 'persona' stronger but my point is that there is no need to bring all 10 levels of every social link to the movie format. Thus the amount of necessary material won't include all of them which take a lot of time in the game.

Social links are really just significant towards fusing for stronger and new monsters.
However it would be cool to see who the MC associates himself with after school and stuff because in the game that's totally up to the player

Also I heard a really good idea. One movie could focus on the male MC and the second could focus on the female MC or something like that.
This would be cool for those that played P3P

I do agree with you, that Persona 3 story pacing is bad compare to Persona 4's, there are months in P3 where nothing is happening. Though part of me still think it will work, since people may not agree with me but Social Links are important it is the other half of the game to not include it would be like not even showing the batting practice or battles in Little Busters.

No idea the length time, but if they are like 2-3 hours then I would agree with Sa-chan_ and the first movie should end with the first event or the second. Though if they plan on animating the Answer portion it needs to be like a movie itself it really doesn't have anything going for it other then its story and that can be on the short side.

I really hope they won't animate unnecessary social links and events :V especially romantic ones.
the final movie being The Answer would be awesome though.

MC's placeholder movie name is Yamada Gettarou, according to the official twitter :v it's okay but I liked his manga name better.

Of course they shouldn't waste their time reaching level 10. At least level 3 as maximum would be suffice IMO.

Who is the retraded moron that made up that name? Arisato Minato was much much better. They could mix up the s. links like P4A........for example: the club related ones can be done together.

That just placeholder name, not his official name yet.
I think his name has probability to be different from his manga name because the staff has said they discussed about his name & personality for this movie in one of the twitter if I remember right.
Probably rumor but it seem plausible now since DeSu2 protag's name for upcoming anime has different name from his manga counterpart just like P4 case.

Talk about staff, why they didn't announced which studio handle the movie yet if they gonna released it next year?

Personally, I like P4 more than P3 (but I also love P3). I know most like P4 > P3 but anyways, I love that both are getting attention. I don't see why P3 didn't get an anime series either. BUT at least it's getting a movie.

Good thing its not one WHOLE movie cause I was wondering how they would fit that all without chopping out a bunch of information. Will this be a trilogy? (imo, american movies and their trilogys)

I'd prefer if they made this a duology, since P3 doesn't have enough plot for 3 movies. Then again, I'm not really hyped up for this since it's the same studio that made the shitty adaptation of P4.

(I wish a good studio would pick up P2. Now that's a good plot with good pacing.)
