Ani needs to do something about their company image, if everyone's (myself included) first reaction to their liscencing is that they are ridiculously expensive.

It was a given, Aniplex of America picks up any significant series that the parent company produces.

If Sentai got it, the dub would be awful like all of their dubs. At least now they can get it dubbed by someone more reliable like Bang Zoom. The chances of it getting on TV are also higher

Well, this sucks. I really wanted to buy SAO, but that won't be happening now.

And I really don't think Aniplex cares about what the fans thinks about them. The crazy hardcore fans are still going to buy their expensive DVD and BDs, so they are still going to make a big profit.

Fans have the streams, they are free and still show support for the property. Not like many fans actually end up buying these things, so they have to appeal and release limited or special editions to get the collectors. Collectors have the so-called expensive DVD and BD releases. It's safer to appeal to that side of the market and keep expectations of sales in check like Aniplex USA is. It's working pretty well in its own ways for NISA and Nozomi Ent.

That said, I'll end up buying Magi I'm sure. I might end up buying Blast of Tempest. I will pass on SAO. I just don't like it that much to collect it.

Oh nice, let the "garbage" crap spew forth.

That aside, overpriced BD's bleh. But whatever, I paid a lot for the Haruhi Disappearance DVD/BD combo pack, I'd probably shell out as much for SAO.

Don't care about SAO at all, or much about the others, so I don't care how ridiculously overpriced they'll inevitably be.

Well, this helps shrinks down the list of possible English voice actor loaning their voices to these series.

Oh & Space Brothers is still the best anime ever,in my opinion.Even when competing with Attack on Titan.

Maybe people will realize they're just releasing the Japanese product at a slight discount.

The best thing they do is a quick turnaround in terms of time from airing to release. It's not like Funimation who dicks around with their licenses for well over a year or more.

I had a feeling that Aniplex would be the ones licensing Sword Art Online considering the fact that LiSA sings the 1st OP theme.

This is awesome news never the less.

i'm happy that all three titles are getting a U.S release but i'm also a little sad that it will most probably be an expensive one it all depends on how much they will be wether i buy or not i'd really like Aniplex to go back to charging between $30 and $50 dollars for there releases.

Well considering the fact that every anime on toonami is already mainstream, and rarely above average, yes SAO would fit right in. Then again, when has there ever been a mainstream anime that passed average boundaries.

Yeah just realized how its going to be released by parts. Oh well I rarely if ever buy stuff from the fandom outside cons. This is one of those things that I love enough to shell out cash I guess. Now if only the LN's get published.

I liked Sword Art and Blast of Tempest with the former being one of my favorite anime in recent years and I enjoyed the latter. I would've like to see Funimation license Sword Art Online. I'm looking forward to seeing the English dubs and I would buy Sword Art Online on DVD or blu-ray from Amazon or as a gift when it comes out.

Of course, Aniplex cares about the people that buy shit. Not the people that moan around and buy nothing. It's called business.

I will not pay any lower than 699.99 to have them both shipped at the same time. If its lower than that Aniplex is not hardcore enough.
