Kinda curious about the background of Ren and Hone Onna. Although I wasn't too clear on which one was Wanyuudou in the flashback.

Wanyuudou was the carriage's wheel. The burning one they showed at the end of the flashback that rolled of and apparently, didn't die with his master, who happens to be a princess. I wonder what era that was in.

That was a great episode. Had me breathing sighs of relief twice.

Was it just me or was that the first time ever that an episode didn't include someone being sent to hell. Interesting... They totally broke the flow didn't see that coming.

I enjoyed it. It was a good change of pace in comparison to the typical "Cry about something pointless and send someone to hell over it" theme. I hope they can give more insight into all of their backgrounds as well in the upcoming eps.

Nice, noone was sent to hell in this episode. Oh and Enma talking sideways to that driver is hot. <3

and +1 for Wanyuudo.
I thought at first that the princess was Enma, then I remembered that she wasn't a princess.

Wow, really great episode. I like how Wanyuudo's backstory unfolded without any drama or explanations; just him reminiscing quietly about it while it's up to the viewers to interpret.

Nice episode, first time somebody didn't pull the string and didn't had intention to kill the one he or she hated,, well he was already dead so he couldn't have...

Isn't Enma going to be punished for this? I mean she didn't maked it in time so if he really wanted to send the grandpa to Hell he couldn't which would be Enma's fault?... Well maybe I'm thinking too much

Interesting to see some more background information, the only thing I don't understand is how Wanyuudo changed into what he is now from a wheel...? I mean a wheel doesn't have a soul right? I hope they'll explain this :)

I kind of internally lol'd when Ai was at first like, "We still have time," when handing the truck driver dude the doll, and then when Ren stepped in and said it was annulled, Ai was then like, "We were too late." It was kind of emotionless, as it usually is with Ai, but I think because it was said so dryly that it made me grin.

I liked this episode! It was different yet again. And yay, more back story and this time for Wannyoudo!

Actually I think he was the driver of the cart, no? At least that's the conclusion I came to, from what he said about having had confidence in his handling of the road...

Either way, it was awesome to see about Wanyuudou's past, these episodes are getting better and better :) And also, I was just thinking before watching this episode that 'it'd be interesting to see an episode where no one gets sent to hell', and right then it happens xD
First episode to get me a bit teary-eyed, looking forward to seeing more things about Ren's and Hone Onna's pasts :)

He didn't pull the string, but he'd do it if he could. Still looking forward for a MC like the otaku guy from earlier.
Nevertheless, I like that they change how they show each episode. It doesn't feel like repetitive as season 1.

Ohh. And did you guys see how Hone Onna transformed? That was hottt!

In this season at least. It took till episode 26 of the first season for someone not to send someone to hell. I like the interesting possibilities that occur though.

No one was sent to hell! Wow, I'm suprised. I like the way in which they told us background of Wannyuudo - it was really subtel. We don't exactly know much about him, but, finally, we know what happened to him.

I can't wait to see how it was with Ren any Hone Onna!

nice to see about Wanyuudou past and also liked to see how points of view can be different from each peoples eyes and how easy a misunderstanding is created. it had a really nice ending.

wonder if Wanyuudou was a cart wheel in his past or he was the driver i guess the driver.

He's always been the wheel look at the first season.

First time someone didn't pull the string

People in this series are dumb ass for pulling the string in the first place

I rather loved this episode!
nobody had been sent to hell :D!

Wanyuudo backstory!
My idea on what he is from this episode is as follows: Wan was the Driver of the carriage and fell off the cliff with the "princess" the wheel rolling away and burning is Signifying him meeting Enma and becoming what he is now.

The contrast that this episode provides when compared to the rest of the series is storytelling gold. I have never particularly thought that Jigoku Shoujo was that amazing, until now. The compassion that all the characters showed (okay everyone but the little girl) was very heart warming. Most of the time I agree with the person who holds the grievance but this time I was on the side of the old man, especially after learning about his family. Wanyuudo ended up saving the guy anyway, and the old man ended up being a very sincere person.

The ending actually brought tears to my eyes. 5 - Loved it

Loved this episode, I didn't think they were allowed to help anyone but it's nice to see that they can.

I cant believe Wanyu was a wheel... I guess that explains why he always transforms to a flying burning wheel, guess I shouldn't be surprised if Hone's background reveals her being a corpse/skeleton zombie hybrid thing and Ren's being what? an eye?

Kikuri is adorable, I want to know her background too.

Wanyuudou's name roughly translates to mean 'a wheel on a road', or alternatively 'wheel monk', the former referring to his original form.
