Goddamn. I mean, I really love some of the shows that have aired during noitaminA, but only because they were good shows, not because of what programming block aired them. BRS on noitaminA isn't going to be any different than it would have been on another block.

But at least we have one guarantee whenever a show airs on Noitamina - it will have a decent budget, and the studio behind it will regard it as an important title. I mean say what you want about Fractale, but at least it looked good and the director had a lot of faith in it.

A Noitamina-show isn't good by default, but the chance of success is higher here than on any random block on any random channel. Pretty much the only downside I see is the blocks length of eleven episodes, but I don't really think it will be an issue with this series.

Regarding the OVA I liked it a lot, and blame pretty much all of the score backfire on the lack of combat. People were hyped to belive the battles would be the focus, not some school setting. Personally I think the OVA did both the school setting and the crazy dream thingy very well.

Really? You serious? Usually Noitamina shows are distinctively cheap-looking. Of course not all the time, but you always have those moments where things just 'kinda' look like what they should look.

It's getting pretty annoying how people always act as if all shows on the Noitamina block are good. It's had its fair share of shit, no less than all other timeslots.

Really, took them long enough. Taking into account how much the Blu-ray
Limited Edition sold,
it shouldn't be any surprise to anyone that it's gonna have a TV anime adaptation. Now, is it just me or it seems that noitaminA is slowly getting away from their original objective of being a programming block aimed mostly at "college-educated adult women"? Well, considering how badly some of their Josei titles have sold, who can blame them (some of the recent examples that comes to mind is Kuragehime, that while volume six of the manga was selling more than 100,000 copies, the BD volume 1 of the anime that was being broadcasted at the same time didn't even get to sell more than 750 copies.)

This is disappointing. The only chance this has to be good is if there is a complete revamp in the staff and direction of the show. There are so many other things that deserve continuations....

So a super popular OVA shouldn't be allowed to have a tv series? This deserved a series more than almost anything else that hasn't gotten a TV series yet.

I was expecting this would come after the BRS game.

Just hope it'll be better than the OVA. BRS still got potential to be an anime hopefully the TV anime will have better and clear explanation of whats going on.

Awesome, I'm really looking forward to this. I really enjoyed the OVA and was hoping for this. From the picture it looks like Black Gold Saw will be in it, hopefully for more than just a few seconds like in the OVA. Also in the picture it looks like Dragon Slayer is there.

Heh, I liked the OVA just fine.

I'm looking forward to this. I love the character designs, and this could be an interesting show.

Wondering if some/all of the characters that weren't in the OVA will be present. Like Black Devil Girl, Demon Canon User, etc.. :>

Noitamina time slot huh? well that gives me a little better hope, like i said before the ova aired, taken on its own it will probably be at least ok, taken in a view of BRS standard and fandom and follow the original *song* its not gonna live up, it jsut aint possible...

The OVA was alright. I didn't really like them gurls becoming emo just because they "feel" that they have abandoned to a new friend and then fight their ass out in the other world to snap them out. Even the ending of the OVA has that other girl turning into emo XDD

However, I really like the fighting scenes. It's so epic. I hope noitaminA will deliver it the same or even better and I won't complain to the story anymore XDD

Then enlighten me! The only Noitamina-show I've seen of late that HAVEN'T impressed me visually is C. Fractale looked good. No. 6 and Bunny Drop is looking good. Ano Hana looked good. Wandering Son looked good. Kuragehime looked good. Shiki looked good (giver or take a few lousy haircuts). Eden of the East looked good. Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 looked so, so good.

But yeah, it's not like I've seen every Noitaimna-show ever made, but those I've seen have all been very pleasant to the eyes.

I felt the OVA was unnecessarily pretentious while ultimately average at best. However, I am genuinely looking forward to the TV series as it'll have the benefit of more episodes to flesh out the world more.

I'm sorry, but Noitamina is not synonymous with "Excellence" anymore. [C] and Fractale kinda broke that shining record if you haven't noticed. Also people seem to forget how "Otaku-friendly" AnoHana is. Moe-Moe Loli Menma, Busty Twin-Tailed Anaru, Megane Chiriko... They totally don't meet "database checklist" behavior. -_- Get off your high horses, an anime can be moe and intelligent at the same time. Ever seen Bakemonogatari, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, or Sora no Woto? Hell, I honestly think AnoHana was the block's best selling anime as it combines "moe" elements with dramatic storytelling really well.

I honestly wish people would stop this "Me, me, me" behavior in fandom. Moe sells well, get over it. Those same shows you always complain about are funding the more creative/ambitious anime's financial failures. Plus moe's financial security helps a company recoup lost sales. For example, look at Manglobe's upcoming anime, it's an eroge adaptation. A far cry from Samurai Champloo and Ergo Proxy.

Most importantly, you don't know how BRS will turn out. Could be a really gripping story in the end, who knows!? If it is, then dammit it'll be the best merchandise commercial I've ever seen.

What is that "shining record" you are talking about? Also, what do you mean with "excellence" and how did you measure it?

I don't know where people got that idea from. Just last season, weren't people complaining about how "repugnantly moe" and "otaku-pandering" shows like Astallote no Omocha!, Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai and Softenni were yet those same series were a total sales failure? How do you explain that?

Eden of the east did look good, from what I recall, anohana too, maybe. Still, they all have that sketchy feeling to how they are drawn/animated. Explaining it with words isn't really helpful, but I'm not going to go around screenshooting things that look bad.

Those were fanservice shows. Fanservice can sell, but moe is a much safer bet overall.

Also in general, moe shows sell better than any other type of show... and significantly better at times, as well. Just look at all the Kyo Ani stuff, and shows like Angel Beats doing great last year. Idolmaster is projected to do great this season once we get past the first volume, as well.

Oh, so Astallote no Omocha! is not a "moe show" because it has "fanservice." Wow, you learn something new everyday, so now I know that if a show has "fanservice" it cannot be "moe." Now I can answer to all those complaining about how "moe-crap" Astallote no Omocha! is by telling them that they are wrong, that AnO is not "moe", but a "fanservice show," a completely different thing.

If I remember correctly, Nichijou had pretty mediocre sales, and that was the latest Kyoto Animation show. Was Nichijou also a "fanservice show" instead of a "moe show" so that's why it didn't sell as much?

It's not that the OVA was bad it was just, a bit slow for me. I didn't really have to see that much of their school life before the plot got under way. Well this series should be interesting either way.

Excessive fanservice turns off a lot of the possible fanbase. Its why the best selling moe shows are normally devoid of fanservice.
