Well if its Range Murata and GONZO, I'm sure this'll be good. C=

Shangri-La was epic, anyways.

I would've been excited about this news if Shangri-La didn't suck like it did. I don't know why an artist as talented as Murata bothers with a company that hasn't produced anything good since Gankutsuou; I would love to see Mad House or Production I.G hire him.

The anime studios have to invite Murata for a project, not the other way around. Declining work from Gonzo won't magically grant him offers from other companies (if given the choice, he'd obviously work on as many productions as possible).

At any rate, he has a good relationship with the producers at Gonzo.

I thought Gonzo was disband. I didn't like Shangri-La because it was really weird and boring. This new anime series better be good.

Nothing can top Last Exile among GONZO works.

Still might gave this a try.

I know that those companies have to be the ones to offer him work in order for that to happen, did I imply that I didn't in my post?

I love Murata's artwork, and both Mad House and Production I.G have been producing some great, critically acclaimed works. I was just expressing my wish to have his talent utilized by those companies and my frustration that last time he worked for Gonzo, his talent was wasted on a work that was poorly received. But who knows, maybe Gonzo will surprise me and this new project will end up as good as Last EXILE.

This makes me very happy. I've always had a soft spot for Gonzo. I'm glad they're still producing, even if people are less than enthusiastic. It's all left to opinion, so I won't argue against those that don't like the studio.

But how awesome! Murata Range's designs are fantastic, and Last Exile is ranked as my #1 series, so I hope it goes well. Can't wait to see what happens.

Gonzo has produced top quality anime in the past. Maybe they can scrap together some of the old magic.

the gonzombie, hungry for brains.... *urrrglegrrrr.... brains!* .....finds range murata and assimilates him.... constantly searching for any unemployed staff that lags behind without a shotgun.

bring your torches and your chainsaws and let's have a good time. :D

on a serious note it might be interesting to see what they can produce. Murata's art design is spectacular and even if shows like Shangri La make little sense, they are still visually interesting. I'll be glad to see what Gonzo can push out in their dying breaths, since that is a good way to motivate a staff (to work those long sometimes unpaid hours that make an anime great).

I'm not trolling I honestly never heard of the guy, and with a name like " Range" it seems like he's batting for the other team.

He's just a well known graphic artist. Think of him like a Norman Rockwell for anime.

His work has inspired whole series before.... most notably Last Exile and Shangri-La.
