Wow, I had actually had to switch to dub for this one, even though I haven't watched a dub since like '07 but with dense plot, along with a fine font used for the subtitles I found there was no way I could watch sub and still follow.

But to my relief it wasn't bad at all and then I remembered I had only watched dub for all the previous Ghost in the Shell titles that aired on TV way back when.

Either way, really enjoying it so far.

I wish the series itself had the same color palette and shading as the opening. It really fits the tone.

Nice first episode, the mayor is badass as always and the new soundtrack is also good.
I was a bit disappointed that the "new" recruits were the tachiyoma though.

Love how it felt like a pilot episode, but also incorporated references from SAC and the movie~

Seeing the Tachikoma after that emotional loss of last season is really nice. Can't have GiTS without 'em.

Although the music is great, it doesn't have the technological/trance feel of the SAC OP/ED.

Major's entry to action was spectacular and the soundtrack (Ilaria Graziano - I Can't Be Cool) at that moment fit right in. Seeing all the Tachikoma gave me teary eyes. I love those guys.

Season 1 left me with such a satisfied feeling, and now, reluctantly beginning 2nd gig they start off so damn great. Love it

Had me fooled at the end there, as I really thought they were going to bring "new" recruits. Glad they didn't because for one, I think more 'people' added would hinder development for the already established set of characters we already have. Secondly, I'm actually intrigued what's in store for these Tachikomas, given the background from the first season where I first became annoyed with them, however now, I'm surprisingly glad they are back. What kind of development will they grow through, both the main crew and the returning Tachikomas, I wonder?

Just this once, I'll fulfill whatever your wish is.

Great episode.
Tachikoma's back but this time as members, not as tools, so their AI developing won't be a problem for Motoko.

Let's see what happens.

I didn't watch the 1st GIG is it worth watching 2nd GIG?

How does skipping an entire season make sense to you ? Obviously you have to watch it to get a solid grasp of the story. The only instance where this is acceptable is if said season is filler content, which isn't the case of 1st GIG.

As goood as always and bringing the Tachikomas back was a nice surprise.

Can't wait to learn more about Individual Eleven.

It's been over 6 years since I last saw this so it's about time for a rewatch. Still as good and action packed as I remember with the most awesome ost imaginable.

Oh, as a plus I've just realised that the Prime Minister is voiced by none other that Yoshiko Sakakibara. Her voice is sooo sexy.

Pretty cool return for the SAC series! It's fantastic to see Chief Aramaki doing the work in the background and then the Major whooping some arse in the stage. Batou was briefly spotted though, I hope things won't start to get messy now.

And hey, the Tachikomas are back! Batou's first reaction was heartbreaking but well played there Tachikoma xD.

Individual Eleven and Refugee issue this time around, certainly intriguing premise and here's to hoping this'll deliver in flying colours as well!

Never thought I'd be happy to see the Tachikoma again. And was it just me or does the Major's face look kinda weirdly drawn in Season 2?

The gang is back!

Was expecting for a real person or a cyborg at the end but here they are: Tachikoma-tachi.

"Batou-san" lol. They sure love to tease Batou.

Okay so no CGI opening this time? Heh, they must have gotten the comments, I guess it was kinda kitsch but it had grown in me a lot.

The way Motoko was drawn this episode was slightly different this episode that it took me time to adjust.I thought at first she was an impostor or something.

But hell yes! Tachikomas are back! I am glad Motoko accepted their individuality now, but I feel they should have human bodies if they are so advanced now. Still, hey the gang is all here!! Super nice the continuity is there. It broke my heart at first see them act robotic, and I felt pure joy when they started to laugh!!

Oh and music was superb, the background themes got me super engaged to the point I almost lose track of the subtitles, lol. If this season keeps this standard I will look for the soundtrack myself! Just amazing.

This is how a first episode should be. Establishes the characters current status, and has all the intelligence gathering and action neccessary for them to show off their abilities.

It's the lips, mostly. They're accentuated compared to how they were drawn in the first season.

There might be a new prime minister in charge, but it's still the same section 9! This terrorist organization really served to give me a good reminder of why the cyberized future can be so dangerous. The majors hacking of one of the terrorists to turn him into a living camera and then weapon was brutal. It's cool that everyone has cloaking capabilities now. It's kind of ironic that the terrorists would get their goal reached anyways without the need to cause violence or waste their lives. Not that they seem to hold any value for them.

I'm glad the tachikomas are back!

Excellent intro (9/10), familiar situation (5/10), clashing slow red tape (4/10), great action (8/10), clashing but great outro (8/10). 34/5 = 6.8/10, good, so 4/5. Finally some great KMFDM/UT99 background music to wake me up after the political snorefest.
