this anime is almost like detective conan !!!!!!

This is not really a standard detective series like Detective Conan. I hope they explore the backstory more (i.e. the data he wanted to access, related to his past and probably the last war).

The son being a robot was very clear the moment they said the late father was an AI researcher. The mystery are either too easy or not presented with enough clues to solve.
bla bla bla
The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

The fact that he threw a rock at that dog kind of made me hate this anime a tiny, tiny bit. I mean, was that really necessary? What purpose did it serve?

Why don't you look at the scenario and figure out what would have happened if he had not thrown a rock.

That ending was to be expected.. Left out son, who was brought home one day by the father who's an AI scientist? Too easy. I do admit I didn't expect him to be the fridge though. :')

Then still it doesn't make sense why he had to be burnt up, but I guess we'll learn about that next week.

I feel like this anime will have 10 or so episodes of complete randomness but then at the end, all that random will be explained at the end and will all connect.

This is one of my favoite shows this season, but I really hate inga, the one queston he askes feels like a really cheap way to solve the mystery and makes it so you can't guess the ending which is something I hate in a mystery since one of my favorite parts of a mystery drama is when you figure out what is going on on your own.

Two things:

1) The solution for every mystery has always been deductible by the audience in some way. In this episode, you have the mask, combined with evidence of an AI that can pass the Turing Test. For those who don't know what the test is, any machine that passes the test is not reasonably distinguishable from a real person by its speech and decisions. It probably wore a mask because it could be distinguished by its physical appearance.

2) Inga does not solve the mystery. S/he has not and probably never will. Shinjurou has always figured out the solution on his own. Inga is a device to confirm the solution. To make it inescapable. To lead to a confession. Remember, Inga is interested in truth and human nature. This means the what is not as important as the why. And really, the solution becomes much more meaningful when you understand the reasoning behind the assailant's actions.

You'd think they'd be able to tell it was a robot from the remains.

Though at least a dog got brained. Stupid dog.

Yeah that was a bit faulty. Maybe he rigged the system so the robot would be swapped with a real corpse... But we don't get an explanation.

Otherwise really good show, agree with Rakuen42 on everything.

my analysis of the episode, not entirely though.

so basically, Kazamori's secret is already known to Itoji and especially Kagihiko to begin with(you can see him interact w/ Kazamori, possibly the A.I. during the start of the ep), and Kigihiko's line "We didn't kill Kazamori. There's no way we could have killed him" caught our MC's eye on the way he said it not because it implies that there is no reason for them to kill Kazamori but they utterly have NO MEANS to kill him. Kagihiko is also telling Itoji that "they should tell him, otherwise they'll be.." accused of the crime, and that's were the surveillance cameras came into rescue that halt they're revelation about Kazamori.

those also lead to our MC having Inga asked the question "Who is Sasa Kazamori? Whose face is under the mask?"

one question is, what are the consequences for having Kagihiko and Itoji revealing the truth about Kazamori that they so hesitant to do so even after "the supposed to be Kazamori being burned alive"

and one other thing is, WHO DID GET BURNED?
Simplistic beauty can't be appreciated by someone who looks for something grand in everything he watch.

Excellent episode and the first thing to mesmerize me is the following,

was there not a popular anime this references to? I saw these in another anime around and even Nadia had them.

BTW Image Stitches in the spoiler
The city ruins are wild. That rebel war was insane.

I finally found what the reference is. Tomodachi from 20th century boys

I was surprised to find out that Kazamuri was a robot. Should have thought about that one when I learned that the late father created A.I. robots.
Finally looking forward to the next episode to see why the A.I. was burned ~

"Urushibara Ruka. The mannerisms and voice of a woman... No... More feminine than any woman. But he's a guy. Taller than Mayuri, but so very thin... But he's a guy. Looks great in a miko outfit... But he's a guy. It's already twilight And yet, it's so hot. The cicadas are crying. But... He's a guy."

Also, I found it quite interesting that the first of Shinjirou's customer was seemingly a prostitute, showing that he is also solving some smaller cases aside the bigger ones.

I don't think she was his customer, more like the other way around, or just friends (with or without benefits). But yeah, it was interesting.

yeah, it still remains the question who the burned body belongs to since it would be obvious to tell if it's a human or robot.
pretty good episode though. inga's ability is still quite weird though...

Getting interesting. I hope this story will not only be a stand-alone one and have its conclusion by next episode, but will also introduce relevant elements ab the setting. This anime may well end up having a big over-arching story like GITS: Stand alone complex.
