Lalah is going to enter combat!

And I felt bad for Hayato.
He's a good kid and he deserves more spotlight in this show.

Poor Hayato.

I loved the last few minutes.
I hope Dozle can somehow survive. But I doubt that will happen.
So I hope he goes out with some crazy fun action instead.

I'm surprised there aren't many replies on this thread, the battle was intense this episode.

Ooh, looks like battles are heating up. Apparently Amuro dosen't have any problems to attack that colony. Newer Gundam pilots would have started whining already at the start of operation before any shots were even fired.

I wonder what miss Creepy Eyes is going to do for Char.

Another intense and excellent episode. I'm happy Minerva appeared as a baby, I thought her first appearance was in Zeta. That Federation mirror weapon was amazing, I didn't think they could land on Solomon so easily. Amuro is gonna be awesome next episode I just know it.

Wonder what's gonna happen to Lalah and Hayato...

Amazing episode as always!

This episode is less talking and more fight scenes!!!

Seems Amuro is starting to miss Frau Bow's lunches :P

Lalah is lovely as always!

Man those mirrors that produce some laser like beam. I could definitely see how Gundam Seed got this and used it during the Valentine War.

Poor Hayato, But this is war. They need all the help they can get.

Amuro is just..Different.

Man that would be a slap in the face that's for sure :P

That general sure has a lot of women, but only fathered one??

Amuro is getting better, looks like Char and Lalah are about to launch on the front lines.

And hopefully this is the last time we see Cameron.

Things are heating up!! Can't wait for the next episode!

So the Federation went all historical on the Zeon :p Though you could wonder whether it is actually less moral to use such a powerful weapon when it is considered immoral to use nuclear weaponry. That aspect was definitely interesting, eventhough it wasn't actually explored (I hope it will, though!)

Kai was pretty cool this episode, actually, I loved how he reacted to the war in his own way. Hayato finally got his little bit of spotlight as well - I hope he'll be able to deal with his issues and accept his abilities for what they are.

Hmm, I have not yet made a post here without mentioning Mirai, but she was barely there this episode! :( Ah well. I wonder what the kids are up to!

I thought it was ironic that, from a distance, the battle looked quite beautiful. It's hard to consider it as such when (as the show pointed out) every sparkle signifies one or more deaths.

Dozle is handling himself pretty well. I liked that he decided to be cautious when it came to his family, even if he did feel that he would win the battle.

The Solar System's offensive strength is pretty incredible.

I loved that narrator quote, it's darkly poetic and adds a grim reality to the beautiful action.

Really great episode! Things are drawing to a head!

We have a glimpse of the war with the "a" capital, this time. Compelling storytelling although I expected something more dramatic, the only thing of concern is the Ayato wound. well-orchestrated battle, but the best comes in the next episode, it seems.

Awesome seeing the Federation have such great success here. It's also cool to know that the debris of Side 4 that they attack through was where the anime Gundam Thunderbolt takes place. There wasn't much focus on Amuro and not much evidence of him destroying much.

Amuro Ray Kill Count:
1 Dom kill, 2 Musai kills; 3 kills total this episode
65 kills total

I do like how they humanise the enemies as a lot of other animes just leave the bad guy as just that or as faceless red shirts. Hell this does it better than some animes made now a day.

I've seen people in these threads mention the term Newtype and associate it with Amuro and some other pilots. Since this is my first Gundam show, I have no idea what that term means. Hopefully this show will introduce it and give some background before it ends. Bright's conversation with the commander and Fraw Bow's comment about Amuro look like a sign that they will.

Dozle has around 20784 death flags placed on him at the moment. In fact, it would probably be a miracle if he doesn't die at this point xD

All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

A really solid episode showing how the war is really turning against Zeon as Dozle prepares to go all out. He comes off as a good person, if perhaps too devoted to war, despite being a Zabi. Comments about Amuro being "different" were well-done, reminding the viewer of how those who are different can become feared by others, perhaps unjustly. It also goes along with him growing up.

Man, the weaponry of the federation is just next level. It almost feels too one-sided. Guess the Big-Zam of next episode might even the odds a little, it looks pretty intimidating at least.

The Hayato thing didn't really do much for me. No idea why Hayato thinks about surpassing Amuro when he's stuck with the shitty Guntank. Of course he can't hold a candle to the Gundam, it should be obvious. Hayato is consistently a character who's just there, he really needs a story arc in my opinion.

A very battle-heavy episode, which makes sense. I just find it funny that Amuro doesn't run out of ammo in this fight that lasts over 15 minutes while he's normally out after like 3.

Dozle is very Machiavellian in his leadership which is stereotypical of a villain, however the formula here doesn't work that way as Char has shown humanity and decency toward his soldiers (and to Amuro). I feel bad for Hayato although the whole "Amuro is different" thing is a bit of a trope but he's not super OP or anything, he's just brilliant with technology, so I appreciate that in a main character as well. That solar flare system is insane.

Aaah, Mineva Zabi. The only Zabi who isnt a horribly awful person. (Yet. )

I assume she is going to play a larger role in the later UC Gundams. Looking forward to see how they are going to develop her. Dozle and Garma are probably the least awful Zabis, though thats not saying much. If she was Ghirens daughter id have no hope for her turning out good, seeing how media usually develops legacy characters, but with Dozle as a baseline there is at least a chance.
