To say that mecha anime/manga is a popular genre that's spawned some of the best and most iconic anime of all time would (I hope) be a fairly uncontentious statement. And every season it seems that we get a few more shows to add to the mecha 'Plan to Watch' list. Taking that into consideration, it's understandably hard for shows to make their mark in the midst of all that competition. But every once in a while we do get that stand out mech that manages either to be a critical success or attain great popularity; Aldnoah Zero did a bit of both. This mecha anime premiered in July 2014 and since then spawned two successful seasons. While the fans are hoping for the continuation of the show, the accompanying merchandise was released to hopefully make the wait more bearable - so here we are here to show you just which ones to get!
5. Aldnoah Zero Union Creative mensHdge Slaine Troyard Figure
The first figure on our list is the figure of the Martian-allied character Slaine Troyard. This figure of Slaine comes from famous publisher Union Creative as part of their mensHdge line. This Slaine figure was released just recently in January 2016 and this special version is a Union Creative exclusive. Slaine is sculpted by Yamon who depicts him as he is putting on his glove. The figure is 16 cm (6.2 inches) tall. This is a non-scaled completely pre-painted PVC figure. To own the Slaine figure and bring your love-hate relationship with him to your collection, you'll only need 10,390 yen (~98 US dollars).
4. Aldnoah Zero MegaHouse Variable Action KG-6 Sleipnir Figure
The second figure on our list this time comes from MegaHouse and it's a figure of Aldnoah Zero’s KG-6 Sleipnir that is part of their Variable Action line. The mecha figure was released in March 2015. This Inaho Kaizuka piloted mech that was named after an eight legged horse from Norse mythology comes with an automatic 75-mm cannon that possess a detachable grenade launcher, interchangeable hands, a blade, articulating stabilizers and a display base. The KG-6 figure is a 14 cm (5.5 inches) tall painted plastic figure. To land this mecha in your collection you will need around 18,765 yen (~177 US dollars).
3. Aldnoah Zero Kotobukiya Asseylum Vers Allusia 1/8 Ani Statue
In August 2015, Kotobukiya graced us with an amazing figure of Aldnoah Zero’s Asseylum Vers Allusia. This complete pre-painted 1/8 scale PVC Asseylum figure is 20 cm (7.8 inches) tall. The Empress of Vers Empire - as she is also known - was sculpted by Tsukamoto Tomokatsu who masterfully captured her in a cheerful and playful pose. The Asseylum figure was sculpted with great detail - from her outfit to her long flowing hair. To own this fantastic figure of the idealistic empress you will need to have around 19,710 yen (~186 US dollars).
2. MegaHouse Variable Action KG-6 Sleipnir Space Type Figure
Second place on our list belongs to the space-ready KG-6 Sleipnir mecha piloted by Inaho Kaizuka. Like the second season, everything about the figure is bigger and better than what came before, namely the KG-6 Sleipnir we already covered. This version also comes from MegaHouse and it is a part of their Variable Action line. This version of KG-6 was released in March 2016. This is a completely pre-painted ABS and PVC figure that is 18 cm (7.02 inches) tall. It is highly articulate like the KG-6 only version and it even has some additional moveable pieces like armored flaps on the leg boosters. The figure comes with huge leg boosters, boots, and a codpiece that comes already attached and a hefty backpack. The figure also possesses two pieces of black fire on which any of the eight anchor tips to recreate some breathtaking scenes. On top of that you will also get a 37 cm (14.5 inches) long rifle. This figure can become the centerpiece of your collection for about 45,250 yen (~427 US dollars).
1. Aldnoah Zero Azone Asseylum Vers Allusia Hybrid Active Figure
The first spot on our list belongs to a figure from Azone and it is part of their Hybrid Active Figure line which consists of flexible and articulate dolls of famous manga and anime characters. Once again, this is a figure of the Vers Empire’s Empress Asseylum Vers Allusia. This Asseylum figure was released in September 2015 and it is a pre-painted figure made from soft vinyl. A wealth of additional features like a real fabric dress set, a high necklace, high heels and a wig come with this 50 cm (19.68 inches) tall figure. This figure has an Obitsu body with a 1/3 scale M bust. To own this Azone gem that will rule over your collection, you will need to pay up to around 66,435 yen (~627 US dollars).
