I read Slam Dunk less than 2 years ago. It was pretty fun, indeed.

If you're interested in a fun modern basketball anime, watch Kuroko no Basket. It's more unrealistic and players have DBZ-level superpowers(shots, dribbles, etc.) but it's kinda similar to Slam Dunk in some ways. Not as good, though.

Finally finished Slam Dunk. I knew it wouldn't have the ultimate resolution type of ending when I saw how many volumes there was into the national tournament, but those last two vols or so were some of the most intense I've seen in manga. I think ending it there was necessary to avoid falling into a drab of ever increasing ambition that just doesn't feel fresh anymore.

Now I guess that leaves me with reading Kenshin, which seems to be the most obvious jump title I'm missing.

I'm reading Slam Dunk, hopefully being able to finish it before the end of the year. I've made some awesome progress on manly manga this year with Souten no Ken, Dragon Ball, Hokuto no Ken (post raoh), Kongou Banchou, Berserk and Toriko. I fear I'm going to run out at this pace much sooner than I thought I would.
