Boku no Hero Academia: Ikinokore! Kesshi no Survival Kunren

The My Hero Academia: Make It! Do-or-Die Survival Training OVAs were such a fun and refreshing watch before diving deeper into Season 3. 🌟 Even though they don’t directly impact the main story, they capture what makes MHA so enjoyable—the teamwork, the humor, and the heart of Class 1-A.

Episode 1 set the stage nicely, giving us the thrill of a rescue mission while showing how the students rely on each other’s quirks and strategies. Winny and Willow were hyped by the teamwork on display, while Tails couldn’t stop laughing at the lighter comedic beats. Mimikyu loved how the tension kept building, and Sunny admired how ... the students handled the pressure.

Episode 2 cranked up the intensity with the flooding mall scenario 💦, making the training truly feel “do-or-die.” Bakugo’s big hero moment had everyone cheering (even Shadow admitted it was cool 😏), while Amy got teary-eyed seeing how far the class had come together. Sonic and Knuckles agreed the action was top-notch, and Kuromi thought the frantic pacing gave the whole episode extra edge.

Overall, these OVAs aren’t essential, but they’re definitely recommended for fans who want more time with the crew. 🎬✨ They’re like a fun side quest—lighthearted, action-packed, and full of Class 1-A’s charm. The Plushie Crew had an absolute blast watching them together, and we’d say they’re the perfect warm-up before continuing the main story. 💥 Plus Ultra!

Yeah it's cool. A training exercise that goes haywire on purpose (thanks Mr. Aizawa) and all the A-list or most powerful characters spend two episodes trying to figure it out. I was surprised that there was a small physics lesson here that the writers took into consideration so Izuku, Bakugo, and Todoroki can get back to the surface in the most reckless way possible lol.

So it's good, not great, and did make me wonder about the show a bit, because the plot is always strong and things are always happening even if it may not be as overarching as some people would like. But if ... you break things down like this with the class of 1-A into groups, will they have more of an interaction among each other than the goal of doing the most good? The only one who showed some real personality in that regard was of course Bakugo, who is always so stubborn and angry that anyone can bounce off of him, but nothing can really be said of anyone else besides I guess, "call my Tsu".

So I dislike Boku no Hero Academia...this is pretty obvious if you were to look at my list but I've ended up in a situation where I watch this series with a friend of mine and that's normally fine. We just critique the series a bit and laugh as we go along...


Look, if this shit is going to keep getting side episodes why does it always have to be a training scenario. It's boring, they already are training in the main series on the regular give me some more goofy stuff so I can find a way to like these damn characters. It's the ... same beats the series always does at this point in the game.

>Speaking of that, Ochaco being a mockery of a character who was kinda alright but now just feels like she's just pines for Deku and serves as a speaker piece for the other characters to understand Deku

The second movie was outlandishly stupid but it was actually fun by it's sheer retardation. The only thing that was interesting wasn't even unique to the ova. It was realizing that Deku has two funko pop figures in his room from the Shout Baby ED. Hilariously bad taste.
