Hametsu no Mars

Several months after a probe returning from Mars burns up during reentry, strange creatures dubbed "Ancients" begin to appear throughout Tokyo. Aggressive and dangerous, they cannot be killed with ordinary weapons. As scientists struggle to find the cause of their sudden appearance, the monsters wreak havoc across the world.

Humanity finds hope in the form of the MARS suit—a new weapon developed to take down these enemies. The suit, however, can only be worn by those with specific DNA. Enter Takeru Hinata, an ordinary teen with a troubled past and one of the few capable of piloting the only weapon against the Ancients. With the help of the AAST, a special police force established to defeat the dangerous creatures, the young man battles against demons both personal and global whilst trying to discover the true nature of Earth's new aggressors.

I am beyond speechless right now ngl. I was planning on doing a normal review of me just talking about this anime that I happened to watch yesterday because I was thinking and hearing about how it has a cult following because it’s that bad but as I was coming up with what to write for this review, I realized that there are some things out there that are really beyond description. This is one of those rare occasions where a piece of media is beyond explaining. It's one of those things where you just have to experience it yourself.

All I can really say ... about Mars of Destruction is that it is easily one of the most throughly entertaining pieces of media that I have seen in quite awhile and I'm dead serious. And I made the greatest decision ever to watch the fan made dub for it. I'd actually say it's a disservice to NOT watch the fan made dub for Mars of Destruction. It really elevates this anime to the upper echelons of delusion and lunacy.

This thing is only 20 minutes long and I honestly wouldn't have minded if it went on for an hour. I swear to God, my stomach was hurting the whole time because I was laughing too much, I really thought I was gonna pass out lol. I just...I just have to give this a 10/10. There's really no question about it. Watching the fan made dub of Mars of Destruction made me feel like I was experiencing one of my lucid dreams. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a shitpost disguised as an anime.

If you have seen this, you probably know that this anime is a huge ripoff of Neon Genesis Evangelion. But honestly, I prefer this over Evangelion. Not because this is legitimately better than that but because I found this to be way more enjoyable and fun to watch for me and I also didn’t have to think about how depressing and hopeless life is, because who really wants to think about that all the time, right? RIGHT?!?!

So I’m gonna proudly say that Mars of Destruction is the perfect bad anime. It takes everything that makes an anime good, and shits on it. But it's with the most beautiful, eye-opening shit I have ever experienced. I'll admit it, I'm a fan. Thank you Mars of Destruction for existing.

Mixed Feelings

A fair warning to new anime watchers. You will be recommended to watch this.
Please do not. First it is a really heavy piece to start with, second you will not appreciate the amount of greatness this anime shows in art and sound. You should have a profund knowledge of the history and making of anime.

This is a psychological anime driving deep into the consequences on going to unfamiliar environments, and how its curses could spread into our society. The characters are struck by different personal issues showing affect during the show. It is not a mecha anime, please don't watch it for that.

For me this ... show was too heavy or I am just too dumb to appreciate the deeper meaning. Every episode was like "Watch it and write a 20 page essay about it"
For people who like to analyze the shit out why the bullets keep missing, this is the masterpiece. For me it was confusing to watch.

I have never been so split between acknowledging the greatness of an anime and the lack of enjoyment it gave me. And yes please watch the sequel to have a real ending.

i don't even know what the fuck to say about this show it was absolutely terrible and i wasted 19 minutes of my precious day watching this piece of shit, animation is garbage, sound is shit, only reason i'm rating it a two is because it is a slight improvement from their other shit show, this sent one of my friends jumping off a 10 story building, i cried, i don't know what to do with my life anymore, my other friend slowly peeled all of their skin off with a potato peeler which all happened because of this god forsaken anime.

but is that fucking ... asuka langley soryuu with her hair cut?????
