Both are about young dectives who solve many different cases. While Conan is looking for the people who shrunk him, the Kids in Tantei Gakuen Q are working for a goal and to defeat Pluto... a great series if you like detective shows.

They are both detective anime, but the mysteries in detective academy Q are more solvable and intriguing whereas the problems in spiral are more on the unreasonably difficult side.

Ghost Hunt is about supernatural investigations. Tantei Gakuen Q is also about investigations, it may not be supernatural, or have good animation (old) but if you like good detectives stories, then watch this 2 animes.

Both series have high school detectives. They also have school settings.

These are really fun and amazing detective shows both are somewhat old but it has more originality. Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo has serial killers which is personally fun to me and Tantei Gakuen Q is a bit more like a game. These two didn't seem as predictable as other detective shows.

Mystery is the theme in both of these series so for you fans of detective fiction out there, these two anime(s) are definitely something worth checking out. Many of the cases have plot twists that tests the protagonists to various points. And of course, there is drama, comedy, and small hints of affection (not necessary romance although it may be interpreted that way).

If you're looking for some detective fiction, then these two series are for you. Although presented differently, these two series have some tastes of mystery in them. Both series has a cast of characters who are eager to become detectives. Both series has a lot of comedy, drama, and some mystery here and there. Both series also follows an episodic theme.

A group of kids in a team go out and solve mystery cases. They both got a storyline despite being individual cases. Primarily detective but you could see some chemistry in the boy girl relationship XD

Both main characters have a gift that most people woudn't expect of them. Both characters also appear to most people as weak at first glance. They both also form a little group of friends

I recommend not the whole 'Tantei Gakuen Q' series, but episodes 16-21 - that's another 'kamikakushi' (spirited away) story about an isolated village, including viruses, officers and mysterious murders and disappearences.

Both animes have lots of mysteries. Also have likeable chracters.

A group of young people join the elite Detective Academy and just like Kindaichi help in cases when the police is helpless. The mysteries are really intriguing.

The cases in Tantei Gauken Q are rather on the extreme side, where the murder is... not so much bizare, but they have a level of depth to them. I found the same with this Detective Conan Movie.

both plots are based on young (teenage) detectives who solve crimes/mysteries even the police force have problems with (aka they help the police solve mysteries).

the main characters form a team and they are really similar in their personalities!! Ryu--Shun, Kyu--Dan, Megumi--Runo, Kazuma--Marucho. both teams want to become best in their activities (solving criminal cases and card-monster game) and to fight the evil.

It starts like a mystery-solving episodic story based on deduction where everything ends OK, but as far as the show goes on some mysterious power appear little by little, maybe some secret organization or a person that chases our characters, and is somehow connected with some of the characters' past. Gosick isn't even half-aired yet, though we saw some glimpses of the evil guy, and he seems to be similar to TanteiGakuenQ's
