These series are extremely similar, sharing the same formula of girls, guns and mystery, as well as a large portion of the crew involved. Madlax is the better of the two in my opinion - they're both slow to start, but Noir is a bit shorter on action and excitement until late in the show.

Girls with guns theme - One of the trilogy by Bee Train's Moshimo Koichi.

Both have the hardcore girls with guns aspect as well as a bit of sci-fi or mysticism.

Super cute assassin ass kickers who like to dress in hotpants and tanktops. Revy is a little more darker and mysterious than Madlax (quiet and sophisacted). But overall they both have to fight against mobsters and gangesters in order to reach their goal. Madlax started off as a Mercenary for hire type of anime but then strayed off course for obvious reasons, but Black Lagoon is a "Mercenary for Hire" anime all they way through.

the girl, the dog tags with a bullet hole in it, the music; i watched madlax first and then watch then and it just reminded me the main charaters were alike.

I'm freaking surprised no one else recommended Madlax. The reason that I'm recommending Madlax is because; -They are both darker, with some lighter filler episodes -They are both of the "Girls with Guns" genre, although Shigofumi doesn't have as many gunfights as Madlax -At the end of each series it will make sense as to the connection (I will not spoil it)

This show is similar to Noir/Madlax/El Cazador, because all of these shows are directed by the same guy. Two people. One experienced, another a trainee. Secret organizations. Underworld. Supernatural elements. And as usual, I really don't like the OP/EDs.

They're both Super cute ass kicker assassins for hire. And for some ungodly reason they're good at hand to hand fighting and shooting. There are even bits of shoujo-ai in both if youre into that kinda stuff ^_^

Both shows start really differently from how they develop-Madlax starts as typical action-shooter and Ergo Proxy starts as typical cyberpunk. As they develop they share a lot-mysterious-phylosophycal dialogues and plot, main heroes, who lost their memories, plot makes huge curves and what's really happening is unknown till the last few episodes. For me I prefer Madlax more since it's more dynamic and easier to watch, but both shows are still really good and share a lot in my opinion.

Character based shows dealing with mysteries involving the significance of the main character(s). The shows rely heavily upon character interactions and dialogue. The music in each show is great. Madlax has action but not so much with .hack//sign.

both are centered around female mcs and alot of action as well as nice art and character designs too.

These shows feel very alike to me. Not only do they have the same composer (Yuki Kajiura), but they're both war stories told from various perspectives, both heroic and villainous, all of whom have their own agendas and reasons for fighting. The main characters are both fighting for pretty much the same goal i.e. to bring an end to all wars, although personality-wise Madlax is a lot more like Irisviel than Kiritsugu. In my opinion, "Fate/Zero" is much better, though I'd definitely say "Madlax" is worth watching too.

"Princess Principal" is regarded by those who have seen the "Girls with Guns" trilogy as the spiritual successor to those anime, and for good reason. Not only do they all feature badass female characters participating in shady professions, but they also have the same composer (Yuki Kajiura). Of the three, I'd say "Princess Principal" represents "Madlax" the most. Both have settings divided into two parts, with the deuteragonist (Charlotte and Margaret) being non-combatants with an upper-class background. The protagonists (Ange and Madlax) are both secret agents who are frequently deployed for missions by a mysterious contact and become the protector of the deuteragonist. In both  read more

Super cute assassin ass kickers that both work for a corporation. The action is raw and fast, although 009 is set in a more distant future than Madlax present day style. if youre looking for a futurisitic madlax this is a good start... good luck finding torrents for this one tho ~_~

Storyline and main character roles are a bit different, but they way they kick so much ass is why i like to pair these 2 anime together. They're both super cute ass kickers who rarely exposes their soft side and have very mysterious pasts. ...well they're both being chased after by gangsters (therefore i guess they both face corruption/evil together) ^_^

Both involve a main female who is a profession of several jobs.

Though I have not finished Pandora Hearts so far the plots look similar. Margaret Burton and Oz Vessalius have some points in common.

While not entirely similar with one another, both Madlax and Jormungand employs fast action revolving around a cruel world where criminals and other political figures playing prominent roles. Both series involves with a main female protagonist who is a strong, independent, and cunning young woman who has enthusiasm and a outgoing personality. Both series' themes swifts between lighthearted and violence in many episodes that also reveals a darker side in their perspective worlds. Both series has a lot of action involving guns and its supporting characters that also brings forth drama later on.
