Well then before i begin, there is something you should know... This series has only 19 episode English subbed only. I have included a short summary of episode 20-26 to the best of my ability and please forgive me if the information isn't 100% correct.
The beginning is very face past and really hooks you in. The 4th episode is a recap of the 3 fast pace episode. If you survive that then your in for somewhat of a treat.
The storyline does have its fascinating points. If the author expanded the story, i can almost guarantee this anime could've been very popular. It has action, some drama and mecha.Expanding parts of the story like, the NIDF's past and deepen our knowledge of how deep the comrades friendship is. Also parts like the past of the Hardians. Like in the 19th episode they mentioned some of the Hardians past and also later in the episodes it revealed that the Hardians are the one who once fought for the book of the dead and lost. They got resurrected and make them fight again for the book of the dead but this time their eyes are shut tight and they've become these monsters.
Characters aren't express too well. I do know that only the main character and a couple of side character and a lot of extras.
Aiba Shuu is expressed well but not too much in depth. I do realize they tried to reveal some of his past but not enough for the viewers to be engulf with his character.
Rukina, Yuno- although she is a main character, in the anime she is often pushed aside quite often. She does suffer from amnesia but it could've been more interesting to see her recover from it. In the end we still have no clue who was she referring to when she said "Shuu."
Nanao Syu- He is one of the character i really don't get. He could be a very nice guy but a very despicable guy. Where he lied to Yuno about being her "Shuu" when she was referring to Aiba in her amnesia state. He seems nice but then later on it revealed he was just being selfish and trying to Yuno his.
Rei- She's just one of those characters that is has to be included in these man vs alien series. A mysterious villain pulling the string in the back who isn't the mastermind. Then again she has a deep connection with the mastermind but this connection wasn't clearly clarified. She was however clarified as Commander Iburi's daughter. However even though she was born as a human child, she isn't human but a "Hardian lord"
Most of the other character are pretty stock and some confusing
Rukina, Noa- she seem to have one-sided love with Aiba but it doesn't seem to be the Aiba and the ending just makes it worst with the appearance of the reincarnated Aiba and Nanao together working with Noa
Roki- The captain of the squad, he seem to be very cold, where he would even kill his closest friends on just orders. He claims to want to protect the people but when he doesn't meet their expectation, he kills them.
Toun- He's the girly looking guy. When he got resurrected he meet this girl but at the time he battled with Aiba it's pretty confusing to why is he fighting and not finding a way to get the girl out of sync with the Hardian's brain.
Aguri- He claims to get along the best with Aiba yet he's the first one who want Aiba's head to the ground. He wants to the the best even though their is nothing to be compared anymore.
Ituki- Her fight with Aiba is one of the most confusing. She was fighting him just to ask him why he doesn't hate Yuno for turning him into a monster. She herself is a cyborg. Her dad saved her life by inserting cybernetic technology into her.
She calls the "dolphin" her brother because when the dolphin doesn't work, she sync herself into the dolphin and move as is she is one. Thus without saying if the dolphin dies she will as well.
The artwork is pretty good, depending where you watch. Some version have different graphic where some character hairstyle changes in some scenes and some people's action and movement gets altered. However the artist did express the characters nicely where they have the boss, devious Rei, they gave her ponytail and the express on her face at the last 3 episode of her angry face is just amazing.
The music in the story is a bit delayed. Where they only have some epic BGM occasionally at some battles. They could've inserted more in each episode how ever i do like the fade crossover when the episode about the end. The song stephanie wrote really suit the anime where it express (to me) that friends fighting one another is tragic and that people should value the things in life.
In other words i really do like the anime however it still stumps me why no one is English subbing the last 7 episode. This anime is pretty good, i would highly recommend to check it out if they did finish English subbing it.
Do Not read this if you are going to watch the anime.

Nanao goes ahead to the base with Yuno. In the middle, they get attacked by Rei and Yuno falls into the deep ocean trenches.
Ituki and Noa's dolphin broke down and both got separated
A short recap of the battles of Aiba and his past comrades.
Commander Iburi rescues Noa, and they talked about how Iburi gave birth to Rei and some past about the Hardians.
Aiba is revealed to be still alive. He realizes everyone's escape and he chases after Yuno. He finds ituki and Nanao and realizes that yuno and Noa might be dead.
Nanao is then killed by Rei while trying to protecting Aiba
Aiba then finds Noa in a dolphin and rescues her.
The massive Beelze swarms on the surface of the waters and Valda and the other two decided to lure the swarm up out of the atmosphere and self destruct.
After the giant flash and the loss of his servants, Aiba gets sent to another world where the creator of his servants greet him. She tells him all this stuff about how humans are born to fight and she handed some many books of dead out to observe all the warrior desperately fighting to be number 1. She then extract the abhors from him and make him fight it.
In the meantime Rei turns into this gigantic monster and eating every living soul in the planet.
All of Aiba's comrade which died in his hand came to teh world Aiba is trapped in to aid him to defeating Abhor. Transforming Aiba's arm into what they used when they fought him in. Where Aguri's is the harm with the eyes, Roki the one with wolverine claws, and Toun is the ring halo figure. Aiba defeats Abhor and fights the creator. As she angrily shoots dark matter energy balls at him. Aiba takes out the mirror and conceal her in the human state. Thus him winning the battle.Meanwhile outside Rei is very destructive and at one point ate the submarine Iburi's while crying. At the same time Humanity fire all the missiles they have at here and defeats this part of her. Nanao which is a soul took over Ituki's body and fought Rei. At the same time Yuno in some unknown state talks to Nanao and Aiba about Forgetting about her and moving on. "To love someone is to let them go" Aiba has a choice of staying with the creator in this immortal body and ending world with Yuno and The creator. Or destroying it. Nanao is deciding to kill Rei risking Yuno's live which Rei has in hostage or letting Rei take over the world and letting both of them go.
Both at the end decides to destroy what is infront of them and not be conflicted with the Yuno infront of them.
The ending is really confusing, 6 months is past and Iera is in charge of one of the construction of a city. Noa is researching a way into "NecroWorld" where Aiba was in. Then suddenly a mixture of Aiba and Nanao show up in front of Noa and embraces her. The final scene shows Noa waking up from some coma of unknown reasons and The "Shuu" figure in the plane ending with the word "Noa"
There you have it. One of many confusing and incomplete anime out there.
Thanks for Reading..
I highly recommend it.
Now before I continue, there were only 19 episodes subbed for this series and most of the resulting subs were either sub-par to horrible to acceptable. This was due to having 3 different fansubs from the superb subs from the original fansub group (MENCLAVE) to the infamously "horrible" fansub group Mendoan. When I state "horrible', I meant the English composition that one will read when watching the series from episodes 8 onwards.
Another note: After episode 7, Bandai Visual bought the rights and any viewer of the series will no doubt, notice how inferior the subs got once the announcement was made by Bandai.
Now to the series...
One thing that caught my attention was the concept of oversized bug-like creatures who begin to obliterate humankind and they are called the Hadians. The storyline revolves around Aiba Kun who is one his path of revenge against his former boss who betrayed humankind to these creatures. The reason is slowly told in the late episodes. Also in this blood-lust package of revenge, is to avenge the "death" (or disappearance) of his love, Yuno. As the story progresses, Aiba is given the ultimate power of the Messenger from the Book of the Dead, as a savior of humankind. He is guided by 3 cute-girls who are demi-gods acting as Aiba's arsenal because his body can transform into different weapons.
Another thing worth mentioning is the original and superb design of the flying war-ships like the Dolphin and the NES-1 which makes Gundam and Macross look silly. This eye-candy makes me want to buy one (if it really existed and if I'm rich) and that what separates it from the rest of the mecha series that abound in the anime universe.
There are only 19 episodes subbed and there's a rumor after 2 years of no news, that a new season is underway..named Planet Engage R. R either stands for the mythical episode 27 which is the actual fill-in for episode 4 ( a repeat of the past 3 episodes) or signifies according to the last info dated 11-2008 that a season is being produced. It also is ridiculous that Bandai hasn;t done anything in 2 years, unlike Funimation which releases their series as quickly as you can say "money".
A fantastic series, IMHO and worth watching. If only they would not HAVE bought the series rights that we would all enjoy a show whose greatness would have been comparable to Gundam or Macross. read more
kiss dum:engage planet.
just from the tittle you can get an idea that they didnt put much thought into this anime.
The basic concept is simple.A long time ago earth was populated by some good aliens that faught a war with some bad aliens.they all dissappeared and the only thing left behind was a warning and some ancient uber weapons that can only be used by one individual. So you get the basic setup where the main character will aquire the power to kill the bad guys and save the good guys. Not the best background but we've seen it work for many anime.
the story begins with the outbreak of the alien infestation.highly adaptable aliens with no particular advantages or dissanvatages that can take any huge form you can imagine and kill stuff, and lets not forget of the basic alien wasp like bugs. There is where the problems start conserning the whole world setup and concept.
These things are unbeatable and they spread all over the earth in a matter of months. Its suprising that the humans never used nukes in the initial invasion something that always happens in these stories. All armies get devastated. And the hero is the only one who can kill these things thanks to his super powers.the aliens dont quite like sunshine but it appears that they forget their weakness as the series progresses.yeah...they just forget about it no questions asked.ok whatever not everything gets explained in anime.
Basicly the aliens overkill everyone exept the hero. And the hero whenever hes in the mood he overkills the aliens. No reason no common sense. It is extremely confusing cause the backstory and concept of the whole world is very poor and its not defined in such a way that the person who watches this anime can understand what was happening in the writers head when he wrote the story.basicly the battles are just meaningless overkills where a huge 100m tall alien beast will smash a little guy with a rifle...at least for the first 9 episodes.i really dont get why the aliens bother with humans cause its not like there is any human tech or weapon that can hurt them.
Its one of those stories that a person with great imagination wrote but due to his lack of experience and story telling he forgot that the people who are going to watch this are not himself. You see that happening many times in many amateur stories. The writer has a very good understanding of the concept but he fails to communicate it to the viewers.Although i think that the possibility here is 1)either the writer was himself confused and was unable to figure out the basics or 2)it was written by different individuals who didnt share the same image over the story and ended up as this catastrofic epic fail of an anime.
So as far as for the story ... it sucks big time.too many wholes.so many gaps to fill in with meaningless side stories, while trying to make up for the fail of the first episodes plus the painfull effort to establish the characters ,that always fails.
the art section is not as good as expected.from wallpapers and character and mecha designs you ll think that this is gonna be a visual orgasm, but the anime totally fails in that.ive seen a lot older anime with better direction, better coloring, better animation. Its just good enough to justify that its an anime but not good enough to make you wanna watch it.The editing is horrible.the only good thing this anime has is the mecha aircraft(lol there are just 2 of them, along with the cockpit mobile armor).thats all.they look nice.but they are not enough.
sound...well it has a few nice songs and tunes.the sound effects are mediocre and are usually lost behind the characters screams and wasted efforts to make you feel the action.
now about the characters.the first episodes are really painfull to watch as you get to meet lots of secondary characters who die just like that.you'll see some of them revived later in the series only so they can get killed again.you get to see some interesting girls but they also die sometimes within 1 episode. As for guys you get the usuall psykos with their confused agendas that die out really fast...that said this animes main focus is the uber super ultra hero and his abilities while everything else fades in the background.if only the hero and his abilities were good enough to keep your interest.Overall it painfully fails to establish the characters ...even the main characters role and personality.i dont know, really, maybe my standards are too high...but it really sucked.the only interesting characters are the heros guides.some kind of deities that are the source of his powers?or some kind of AIs that help him with his battles...whatever,they are the only ones that where fun.And a tsudere girl with a big ap cannon-rifle-whatever that never does any real damage to enemies lol.
there is absolutely no enjoyment.im usually really patient with anime that are confusing and fast paced from the start cause they usually end up being masterpieces but this one is terrible.it was so painfull to watch that i actually dropped the series after episode 9.Its the first time i was forced to dump an anime just like that.As a person who grew up watching anime this anime looks to me as a pile of turd.It might be interesting to someone who just entered the world of anime but it wont appeal to people who were lucky enough to watch a few other great anime.
overall...it really is a shame that so much money and effort were thrown in this anime. They should have invested the production money to charity.thats how much of a fail this anime is.i really dont care what happens after episode 10.it wont be able to make up for the devastating failure of the first 9 episodes.if an anime isnt able to establish its story and main characters until episode 4 (thats one month) then its a total failure to me.Not only that but it fails to help you enter its world.i found my self in the uncomfortable position of googling in the net to find explanations for the concept of this anime.i really tried to understand it but i realised that there was nothing to understand.everything is about an uber hero killing alien mutand things but the hero and his abilities and weapons arent that good. The only thing that looked interesting are the motives of a human woman who seems to be involved with the aliens and was the former commander of the hero.but ... i dont wanna suffer through the series to find that out.
this anime is a fail.dont buy it.dont rent it.avoid loosing your precious everyday free time to watch it.YES THIS IS A HATE REVIEW.i want back the 3 hours i lost from my life watching the first 9 episodes!lol. read more
This is one of the better latest mecha i have seen. It's derected by Yasuchika Nagaoka and Eiichi Sato, and produced by Aniplex and Satelight. It started in 2007 on TV Tokyo and has 26 episodes.
The music is ok and it has 2D+3D graphics like most of the recent mecha anime. Nice!
The story is set in the future, year A.D. 2031. Human race is enjoying a prosperous existence until strange life forms called Hadeans appear. Huge swarms of strange bugs and colosal monsters.
They suddenly begin to multiply and assault the human population. As a countermeasure, mankind organizes the Neo International Defense Force (N.I.D.F.) to investigate the Hadeans and find a way to fight them off.
A fighter pilot, Aiba Shu, begins to become involved in the battle against the life-forms. Rurika Yuno, one of Earth's foremost scientists, investigates the Hadeans and hears rumors about the "Book of the Dead." What is the secret of this book, and what relation does it have to the Hadeans?
The characters in both series (I mean Souma Toru and Shu Aiba) are contained up they get their freedom in exchange for fighting against evil. Although the situations are different, Toru is a hacker who acquires a vindictive motive while Shu wants to see Yuno (and regain your memory)
Also both have a reality with many difficulties and some devastated.
Baldr Force Exe Resolution is more concise, with a better story and plot and with dramatic aggregates.
Both series begin showing an apocalypse where aliens bodies brutally attack to mankind, showing bloody scenes with some mechas involved.
The beginning of both animes is intense, the first 3 episodes in the case of the Kiss Dum and in the case of MUV the first two.
The difference is that after those intense episodes Kiss Dum maintains an acceptable story and action, while MUV change to harem with very little of military aspect.
Furthermore, both male protagonists has a history with their 'female heads'
The idea of the Hardians (Kiss Dum) having a slight similarity with the Radams (Tekkaman Blade).
Of course, the notion of Radams is much better prepared and developed, and that action is better in Tekkaman also.
