Pussycat is the last (until now, at least) claymation short created by Nagao Takena. Twisted, sick and sordid like no other, not only for its bloody violence, but for its sexual content, this is Takena's most complex (and disturbing) work so far. Oh, and just to get things clear, I don't know if the characters have actual names, so i will use the generic ones that HatchetGirl used in her review n_n.
Pussycat story's show us how the lecherous Pig and the extremely horny Cat (unless she really is a prostitute... and that would clarify lots of things...) meet at Pig house to... well, get intimate. Although Cat seems to be there voluntarily, Pig's intentions don't look good (or clear, at least), so our humanoid cat heroine could be in danger... But it doesn't end there, since there's a third character in discord: Wolf the wolf (well, you need to understand that in spanish it sounded better xD) wants Cat for himself, and he's prepared to destroy doors, walls and pigs to achieve it.
So, that's the staging. I can't say a lot more due to the spoilers, but believe me, things will get messy. As for the characters, Pig has a dubious morality, weird motives, and a smile so disturbing that is not even funny. Wolf (who's a clear tribute to the classic Looney Toons character, you know the one, the suited wolf that looks at the hot chick on stage, hits the table, whistles, and eyes pops out), is aggressive, violent and wild (so, not a nice guy), and has the most phallic tail of the story of animation. Cat, the real protagonist of this mess, is a sexy kitten that becomes involved in one of the oldest disputes of creation: wolves vs. pigs. Being at the mercy of the other two characters, we'll see if Cat is a damsel in distress or an action girl...
The animation of this short is good and fluid, but a bit clunky in some parts. The character design is the most detailed so far in Takena's works. The scenarios, on the other hand, are very simple, being, like in the previous shorts, made of cardboard and paper (although the furniture looks good).
The sound's not bad, and the music, when present, accompanies. Nothing brilliant, but it's quite different in the moments with action, eroticism or sadness.
So, what we have here is a rather peculiar short, very disturbing, sometimes confusing or just plain unbelievable, in which blood, eroticism and even the Stockholm syndrome are involved. So, I recommend this to the people with open minds, with no problems with the clay violence and weird sexual content.
And if you liked this short, either by its violence or the aesthetics, I also recommend the other Takena works, especially Bloody Date, Bloody Night and Chainsaw Maid.
--------

This is... odd.
A very odd little claymation.
It's alittle hard to describe the story of Pussycat without spoiling anything, so I reccomend you just watch it. I liked the characters designs(Cat was cute, Pig was scary, Wolf could use abit of work), but the characters, for the way they act, was... alittle dull. Although, that is just my personal opinion. As I said with Chainsaw Maid, I liked the animators style alot. It's interesting. The story has abit of plot, not very detailed plot, but it does have an interesting story to it. If you are eating or do not like blood or gore, I reccomend you do not watch this, as it is quite abit gory. Anyways, even with it's flaws, like with most short animes, it is atleast worth it for the expierence.
Thanks for reading. read more

Both are creepy, bloody, sick claymations made by the same person.
