Synopsis

Yasuo works at a ramen restaurant and is dating the pretty news reporter Yukiko. However, things aren't going well for him financially and after a customer leaves a green jacket behind, Yasuo starts adding to his income by walking the crowded streets of the Tokyo metroplex and stealing people's wallets. With this, he's able to buy his girlfriend a nice ring even though she says he didn't need to buy this for her.
Over time, Yasuo becomes obsessed with becoming Lupin to the point that he reads and watches everything regarding him, he even works with Jigen for a time.

However, when Yasuo learns of the Ice Cube diamond, he knows that if he can steal this, he will be the real Lupin.

A McDonalds advertisement masked as a Lupin III movie, it's a literal fever dream (tbh most Lupin III movies are) I can not remember a signle plot point what is this madness HELP.

The animation was really good and smooth at certain points. The idea behind it is fun, it's just it could have been executed better in my opinion. Overall it's a silly and goofy movie, mediocre but fun!

It’s kind of a hit or miss in general, I recommend you watch it with a group of friends and lose your minds together while screaming at the screen <3

Would re-watch it in the future!

Mixed Feelings

An interesting concept.
What if Lupin III was a moniker and not a person.
What if the Green Jacket Lupin (first jacket in the anime) went against Red Jacket Lupin (original color in the manga).

The problem with this movie is its trying way too hard to be as confusing as possible.
Not only does it follow different characters that you dont know. But its not in chronological order.
So you have no idea whats going on.

Its a huge missed opportunity. A waste of a great concept.

And the movie takes itself too seriously. Might have worked better if it was more cartoony and less dramatic.

What a terrible movie over all, and quite possibly the worst Lupin movie yet.
An absolutely indulgent, mindless mash of aborted ideas. The story makes very little sense, though it could be justified as a story purely by sake of argument. The plot is weak, and the social commentary jaded and clumsily stated.

The worse part of all, is this: the primary reason to see this movie never materializes. The one promise, Green vs Red! - never really happens. There's Green in conflict of Red. Perhaps some passive aggressive pseudo dueling between Green and Red. A lot of questioning about who is the 'real' Lupin. ...
