Date A Live V

Shidou Itsuka faces greater peril than ever due to his continued involvement with Ratatoskr. He has already sealed 10 Spirits, and Isaac Westcott, leader of Deus Ex Machina Industries, has finally decided to kill Shidou and plunder the Spirits' powers for himself.

To achieve his goal, Isaac declares an all-out war against Ratatoskr, forcing the organization to exhaust its resources to ensure Shidou's survival. Despite being severely outnumbered and outmatched, a glimmer of hope exists in the form of the Spirit of Time, Kurumi Tokisaki. Shidou must seal and acquire Kurumi's power to travel to the past and confront the Spirit of Origin—the catalyst that started it all.

Preliminary (10/12 eps)

Previous seasons of Date A Live were fun, but in terms of story, Aside from Tobieichi Origami's twist, I didn't feel like there was much of a peak + animation problems in parts 3-4. Asked if part 5 came out good or not........awesome. Wow!!!!

What's interesting is that in Season 4, which reveals that Reine is a Phantom, that story was expanded in Season 5, making all the stories in the franchise that were considered idle become interwoven. Absolutely, the character of Mio takes this story to a whole new level, even Wescott, who was originally a 101 villain that I didn't really like. In this ... part, more dimensions were added to this character. It made me start to be more okay with telling stories.

What I liked was episode 8. I liked that this episode answered many questions in DAL that were not yet answered, which gave the story a lot of narrative weight. And what I especially like is It makes us feel that Shido and Tohka are a couple that really love each other and that Tokisaki Kurumi is still the base of the DAL franchise, and in this part she will be a useful character. From the first moment to the last

The fighting scenes in this part were better. The CG was good, some not so good, but the fighting scenes in some sequences were fun and exciting to watch. And there are twists and turns in the fight that make sense. Especially in episodes 5-8, during Mio's fight scene, there is a highlight color play that makes the scene look quite good.

Overall, DAL V makes me want to go back and watch parts 1-4 again to see how well the sequence connects to the franchise.

Preliminary (9/12 eps)

This is absolutely the best season of the DAL anime. What makes it so much better from the previous seasons is the plot twists which were setup in the final episodes of DAL-4. The revelation of who the phantom and the Spirit of Origin is unlocks so much depth in the story by giving us a greater detail of Shido's past and who he actually is and how he got into this situation. DAL used to be a not a very plot-centric anime but DAL-5 has proven that wrong and has made my patience worth its time.
I would recommend anyone who dropped DAL midway ... to sit through the previous seasons just so that they get to feel DAL at its best!

WARNING: MUST WATCH all Date A Live Season 1-4 (incl. Side story) before proceed to this Season 5!!

Interesting story and plot this time, the more understanding will/might be clear in this season after you watched all Season 1 till 4, so this season basically the explanations why and how the Spirit is exists, obviously, because of romances which is Dates.

But DO expect more surprises every each episodes in this season, because every reveals and secrets might be shock the viewers.

Fighting-scene or Action-wise still considerable good but not wow-factor, and lack in this season since its focusing on the "history" or basically, about Shido/Shins' and Reine/Mio's ... past (about 30+ years ago).

I noticed the movement or translations/animations in this anime cause motion-sickness which caused me headache (not because i am aging, I don't feel motion-sickness at any other anime that has same genres). Previous seasons were just fine. So, that's the main reason I couldn't rate this season more than 8/10.

Audio and SFX wise OK. I can feel the VA's really into the characters, the SFX also seems nothing much improvements compare to previous seasons.

So overall, story-wise/VA/surprises/directions are improved. But technically (mainly SFX and VFX), the production really need to do something about it. This wasn't happened compare to previous seasons.
