Deconstruction of the Demon Slayer

Going from a lazy and aloof nobody to suddenly being extremely intent and determined overnight already raises alarms for Kyle's friends and family, but they figure it's probably him finally growing up. Going from a guy who was mostly just associated with big figures to becoming a demon-slaying Knight in Shining Armor with a legendary sword that is making waves on the other hand gradually causes every force, human and demon alike, to start setting their sights on him, and while he expected it, he certainly didn't expect the Gray-and-Gray Morality politics that come with it.

In a certain way, Kyle's very New Game Plus concept ends up acting as a Deconstruction of the usual idea; his new knowledge applied to a second run is used so drastically that the information becomes more of a handy cheat sheet since he causes massive ripples throughout the coming years, including changes that would've never happened like his mother getting pregnant again due to him leaving home so much earlier. This plus Kyle not actually knowing everything thoroughly due to his former suicide squad role and Brilliant, but Lazy attitude in the first timeline significantly limits what he can change, and thus some deaths are inevitable.
Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki
Movie, 2012, 1 ep Me:- Author:-
The idea of raising werewolf children is played fairly realistically, with incidents like a welfare officer asking why the kids have no immunization records (presumably, Hana didn't want to risk a potential wolf-shift at the doctor's office, or didn't know how they'd react to human medicine), and Hana being unsure whether to take Yuki to a vet or a doctor after she ingests silica gel.

The series follows the "super-powered android created to serve a master" to its uncomfortable possibilities. Even if they do have a master, how the Humaritts grow and behave varies greatly case by case.
Cardfight!! Vanguard (2018)
TV, 2018, 52 eps Me:- Author:-
Psyqualia is a very harsh Deconstruction of the concept of "transformation" in anime and other media. It's very much a Deconstruction of the idea of another self fighting your battles for you, fitting considering what Itou worked on before Vanguard.

• Episode 162 might as well be called The Deconstruction of Kai. Want to be the strongest? Well, you'll have to be Lonely at the Top because by definition you have to defeat everyone to be the strongest. And you have a hunger for power which leads you to make a Deal with the Devil and take up an evil power even though you know it's evil because you simply can't resist the lure of power. And even then, you Can't Catch Up to The Hero. What's left is a Broken Ace who it's strongly implied has been Driven to Suicide by his self-resentment and guilt about hurting Aichi

When Tetsuo falls off his bike trying to curve in the opening scene, he has a noticeably hard time trying to get back on. Motorbikes are heavy machinery, after all, even if they just look like, and are about the same size as, thicker bicycles. Joker, despite being bulkier, has only a slightly easier time picking his own, much bulkier, bike up a bit later on.

The series is prevalent to scenarios wherein an antagonist who's been dominating a match can find themselves rendered just as low as their opponent, if not outright defeated, with a single broken or reversed move. While Zig-Zagged in just how much the hero of the day usually has to survive in order to reach that point, this isn't unfounded — in a professional wrestling match, a single botched maneuver can be all it takes to ruin you.
Ruri no Houseki
TV, 2025, 13 eps Me:- Author:-
Nagi and Yoko's office is an accurate depiction of a researchers' office in a slightly old-fashioned university: a carefully-balanced mess of books, rock samples, tools, more books, toys someone brought in and forgot about, fading posters and even more books, with just enough space kept clear for a microscope or laptop. The chapter 5/episode 3 footnotes feature an annotated diagram of Nagi's desk, and Yoko explains why it's important for mineralogists to keep old books around.

Deconstruction of Mushroom Samba.

Marijuana and other hard drugs are banned in Japan, with Japanese law enforcements take violations seriously to the point that being caught with marijuana is enough to get you to kiss your career goodbye. In later parts of the manga, Shin gets arrested after he and his pimp get caught with marijuana, which causes Black Stones to cancel their first tour. However, it becomes a Subverted Trope when in chapter 66, the distant future shows that Shin is now a successful actor, though Yasu does mention he should be grateful that he was even able to make a This example contains a TRIVIA entry. It should be moved to the TRIVIA tab.Career Resurrection at all. Another instance of this happening is when, shortly after Ren dies, Takumi and Yasu speculate if it was due to drug use. Takumi begins to become concerned about how this would affect Ren legally until Yasu mentions that the police will do nothing about it as Ren is dead.

Deconstruction of Vegetarian Carnivore.

Krishna really loves watermelon. This is Truth in Television, as many big cats in real life greatly enjoy watermelons and they're commonly given to tigers and lions in zoos and wild animal parks as a form of enrichment.
Hunter x Hunter (2011)
TV, 2011, 148 eps Me:- Author:-
While it seems odd how people would willingly apply for a competition as unforgiving and archaic as the Hunter Exam, there do exist similar events in real life. For example, the Barkley Marathons, where not only is the actual marathon course physically grueling, navigating all of the elevation changes on the route is effectively the equivalent of scaling Mount Everest, but is also filled with archaic rules and regulations specifically designed to confuse and demoralize contestants.

Deconstruction of Cram Shoots.

The series discussed the existence of a type of cram school for art-stream high school students that wanted to continue doing art in college, called research institutes. In fact, Arisawa's rendezvous with Yuno was related to this; she skipped Institute class that night because of the pressure and stayed at school to paint, and answered Yuno's cell phone when it was accidentally left behind. Institutes are, in fact, Truth in Television.
Hikaru no Go
TV, 2001, 75 eps Me:- Author:-
It is Truth in Television that Go is Serious Business, but Sai also plays Go to make a dishonest dealer remove the fraudulent Shusaku signature and in a side story, prevents another rogue from selling fake antique vases.
Tottoko Hamtarou
TV, 2000, 296 eps Me:- Author:-
Deconstruction of Chick Magnet

Deconstructed in "Keeping Promises", as when Hamtaro fails to keep a promise to Boss to help Bijou with clipping the leaves off of her branch, Boss is so furious that he essentially lies to Hamtaro that Bijou fell and hurt herself due to him not being there, outright saying that "maybe this will teach him to take his promises more seriously." However, Hamtaro and Oxnard the latter being the one to convince Hamtaro to stay with him rather then going to Bijou’s in first place due to Laura and Kana fighting are left guilt stricken and in an attempt to make right with Bijou, end up overworking themselves to the point Laura and Kana take them to the vet. Needless to say, once this gets out, Bijou is livid at Boss for what he did, while Boss is left guilt stricken for going too far.

Deconstruction of Interspecies Romance

Justin and his posse have taken on this role for themselves in U, acting as guardians to preserve order. Justin claims the Voices have granted him special privileges to help him carry out his duty, most notably his ability to Unveil other users and reveal their true identity. When he abuses these privileges against Belle in his quest to take out the Dragon, he ultimately loses the support of his sponsors, and presumably of the Voices as well.
Aggressive Retsuko
TV, 2016, 100 eps Me:- Author:-
Deconstruction of Serial killer

There are several additionally uncomfortable undertones to the already disturbing situation with Retsuko's stalker and attempted killer:

° The most disturbing part of this is that, outside of the stalking and attempted murder, everything else he does is perfectly legal. He pays to hold Retsuko's hands for five minutes fair and square, even if those five minutes involve verbally abusing her. And when he hunts her down to kill her, he doesn't bring something that could be immediately recognized as a weapon like a gun or a knife, he buys a flimsy box cutter from an office supply store.note And just for some more terrifying Reality Subtext, box cutters were the weapon of choice for a certain group of real-life terrorists. Which? Only the ones behind the September 11th attacks. Like everything else about him, this is, unfortunately, Truth in Television: stalkers and murderers aren't primally vicious and stupid animals, they have a strategic, laser-guided plan to do what they know is illegal and not get caught.

° In a somewhat meta sense, there's also the fact that, even after the stalker has been caught and arrested, guaranteeing Retsuko at least a little safety, his actions still dictate Retsuko's life from that point on and, by extension, the rest of the episode. This is also Truth in Television for survivors of abuse and/or attempted murder: one major reason it's difficult for them to talk about their attackers is that even if justice is served and everyone believes them, having to talk about them is traumatizing in and of itself and puts the idea in their head that the attacker still has control over their life.

Deconstruction of Fake Performance

In "The Sullied Masked Hero" episodes, when one of Teito Pro Wrestling superstars got arrested for murder and assault, Kogoro voiced his worry that mass media would brand Teito as "Ring of Death" or "Killer Wrestler". Then Teito's top draw Wolf Face / Ogami responds by saying that professional wrestlers all know how to take beatings. This can be both figuratively, there were many people in the past who thought that if they could prove that wrestling is fake, they would earn tons of money and literally, as Japanese-style Puroresu is known for its high-risk stiff strikes speaking.
