Works of man(ga,hwa, hua), novels, & light novels that have changed my view on philosophy, the mind, life as a macrocosm, view of art as a macrocosm, etc
Naruto
Manga, 72 vol, 1999 Me:- Author:10
Obviously made me question the value of literally every kind of bond a human makes, but also made me REALLY question what true "peace" would look like & what it means
Bleach
Manga, 74 vol, 2001 Me:- Author:10
Made me question the journey of perfection (although i dont agree with Bleach's view of it) and the fact that for beliefs to genuinely be put forth, action is needed (should be obvious, but so many simply SAY what they supposedly believe, without actually trying to change anything through their actions, almost as if theyre lying to themselves or just say what makes them appeal to others)
Vagabond
Manga, 37 vol, 1998 Me:- Author:10
Made me question the necessity of violence, what connection to the all would be as an experience, and further cemented my interest in philosophy as a macrocosm & buddhism (which lead me into a passion for theology, although it is technically not a religion)
Shingeki no Kyojin
Manga, 34 vol, 2009 Me:- Author:10
Easily the MOST life-changing manga to me in terms of effecting my real world views. Completely CRUSHED the entirety of my morals (went from having tons & trying to be a "good" person to someone who believes in true freedom for people. i do not believe there is a good or bad. for extreme examples, i believe people should have the freedom to do ANYTHING they want without the simplistic labels of "good" and "bad" actions. giving charity is not a good action just as much as murdering or raping someone isnt a bad action. they are actions that we, as people (the strongest species of the place we inhabit) should have the freedom to partake in without rules imposed by other people. i believe in a true freedom for everyone. if you want to kill someone, do it, if you want to fight back against that murderer, do it. you should have the freedom to do what you want. it is nature. the strong get freedom. for example, i was raped & used to see that as bad people doing bad things to me. but no, it was not. it was the strong overpowering the weak. it is literal nature. it isnt good or bad. i was weak & got overpowered by a stronger person. it wasnt a good or bad thing, it just was. it was nature. survival of the fittest/strongest is literally just how species on this earth advance, evolve, adapt. it just is.)
About Death
Manhwa, 2 vol, 2012 Me:- Author:10
Makes me question the true gravity of what we call death
5-toubun no Hanayome
Manga, 14 vol, 2017 Me:- Author:10
Made me truly appreciate the enjoyment of manga. (similar to what i wrote on kill la kill in my anime stack of the same name)
The Horizon
Manhwa, 3 vol, 2016 Me:- Author:10
Another work that further cemented my passion for philosophy (specifically different types of nihilism with this work)
Jigokuraku
Manga, 13 vol, 2018 Me:- Author:9
Furthered my passion for other country's beliefs as a whole (Taoism in specific with this work) and made me appreciate the value of true balance
