Spanning over 300 episodes, this show really takes it's time for each character and has exceptional writing for their personalities.
There's a bit of everything here, but I'd say the main focus lies on the found-family and the emotional backstories of the characters.

High Card's first half is a slow starter with good world building and character introductions, but the second half is a very emotional story about the main characters getting confronted with betrayal & tragedy in their life.

Shy is a Superhero show revolving around the young and insecure girl Teru, who is overwhelmed with her newfound hero power.
It does a good job balancing both an interesting main plot with very interesting villains and emotional stories of the heroes' personal life and origins.

Another Superhero show. This one tells the story of two vastly diffrent heroes forced to work as a team, as they learn from each other and help each other overcome their problems.
There's also a sub-plot of an Anti-Hero (or Anti-Villain) with very interesting ideals.
Note: There's a movie recap of the first 3 episodes, featuring additional scenes. But if you're looking to get into the main story fast, I'd recommend the original show.

A bit of an odd choice, as it had a pretty confusing plot, but the relationships between the characters were really good and emotional so it makes the list.
Note: Even though the first 3 episodes tell you what you need to know, I'd recommend to at least watch the original RWBY's first volume.
