Seinen is Art.
Manga
Must-read manga mostly demographed as Seinen but also contains other good mangas that are not published in any Seinen magazine but are definitely suited for an older/adult audience.
All these mangas are a good read in my opinion, ofcourse this includes ones that I consider top-tier and personal favorites but the others - if not amazing, are definitely worth reading at least once.

Edgy but very gory and uncomfortable themes, amazing characters, lots of fighting, not for the faint hearted lmao. Lone wolf sad protagonist in a historical fantasy setting. Very well written antagonist that you'll loathe with your life. You can't help but sympathize and love the protagonist following everything that he has gone and is going through. Art just gets better and better. Masterpiece. RIP Kentarou Miura.

Time travel, mystery. Anime adaptation is good but leaves a lot out so manga is recommended.
Manga, 17 vol, 2017

Psychological, thriller. Follows the twisted relationship between a mother and her son. Will make you very very uncomfortable and will also make you cry. The dichotomy is what keeps the story going.

Naoki Urasawa's ultimate masterpiece. One of the greatest antagonists and one of the greatest protagonists in all of manga. Psychological. Thriller. Must must must read

Inio Asano's art is great as usual. Story is very confusing but you get a grasp of the plot after a second read - which is recommended as it's a short manga to begin with. Very uncomfortable themes and questionable characters.

If I had to name one manga with the best artwork, it would be One Punch Man. Murata nails the art. Every page could be a wallpaper. ONE's story is peak parody, mostly making fun of the superhero system in anime. Primarily comedic but has some really good story moments as well.
Manga, 13 vol, 2007

Very very depressing. Don't read it if you're weak. Don't read it if you're going through a bad phase in life. Only read it if you can endure a lot of psychological trauma that'll be inflicted upon you throughout and after your read. Also, glorious art.
Manga, 8 vol, 2003

Naoki Urasawa's Sci-fi manga. Robots and humans co-exist and there are problems and hierarchy exists (ofcourse). Anime adaptation is superior imo because there are some minor but very good changes.
Manga, ? vol, 1999

Inoue Takehiko. The man. Very underrated and under-appreciated manga. Follows the lives of three characters and how basketball constantly affects their lives. Doesn't Focus on the details of the sport itself but how it changes and urges our main characters to move forward. Basically, it's about 'life'. Very tragic, very eye-opening, very emotional. One mangaka can't have two masterpieces but this man definitely does.
Manhwa, 3 vol, 2016

Post apocalyptic. Very straightforward story telling, you don't have to scratch your brain too much. Nonetheless a very bittersweet story with a beautiful ending.

Coming of age. The sexual relationship between two teenagers and focuses on them discovering the essence of it. It's Inio Asano, so you already know the art's gonna be good.

Horror, supernatural.Focuses on different incidents that occur in the protagonist's village following the curse of the spiral. Very gory and gross panels. Junji Ito does it best.

Inoue Takehiko's Masterpiece. Based on the real life Japanese swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. Adaptation of the novel of the same name by Eiji Yoshikawa. Art is breathtaking. Historical, very gory and lots of fights and lots of philosophy. Fantastic characters. Probably my favourite protagonist in all of anime and manga. Must must must read.
Manga, ? vol, 2005

Really, it is not as much about fighting as you might be led to think it is. It is mainly focused on the effects of war and not on war itself and the idealogy of our protagonist. Morally gray characters. Anime adaptation does absolute justice. Not for people who hated S2 anime, go watch shounen. Beautiful art. Beautiful story. Amazing characters. Masterpiece.
