Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (Anohana: The flower we saw that day.) Felt like an attempt to recreate a story and emotions very similar to the almighty Clannad-AS, and the good news is that it does.
With lighthearted humor one minute, and tears rolling the next, I felt like Anohana was the perfect blend of fantasy and reality. While the circumstances of her being a ghost are very fictional, the scenarios and feelings of all the characters are very real and are conveyed wonderfully to the audience.
I am usually a person who doubts the ability of a series to tell any kind of story with depth in less than 12 episodes, but Anohana does it in 11. Art work is beautiful yet simple, and the intro credits are probably one of my favorites I've ever seen.
For all of you out there who are "dub" people like myself, don't let the fact that this is subbed turn you away from this great story. I promise you that making the effort to experience Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, will be well worth your effort.
