Mixed Feelings
Lately it's been rare to come across an original anime. One that isn't an adaptation of an anime of a novel. Making adaptation isn't a bad thing in itself but the fan base usually end up disappointed and compare it with the original a lot. With Guilty Crown, this couldn't happen. Guilty Crown tried to stand out on his own and it worked quite well in the beginning of the show... yeah, in the beginning. At first I wasn't drawn into the story that much and I didn't watch it all until recently. All I heard about Guilty Crown was that it was garbage so I had to judge for myself.

''GC versus. CG''
That's one thing I've seen a lot while reading about Guilty Crown over the net. Why does it have to be one of the other ? While the score of Guilty Crown are usually ridiculously high or ridiculously low, I put mine at 5 - Average. I'll tell you why !... Apart from the beautiful animation, the catchy Intro song and Ending song both performed by Supercell (Egoist) for this show or the BGM.

1. STORY :: What the Fuck is going on ?
The universe of Guilty Crown is set in Japan after the outbreak of a virus called 'Apocalypse Virus'. Japan has been hit by 'Lost Christmas' a disaster where the virus went wild and lot of people died from it. For now, Japan is 'kind of' at peace with people living normal life. However, they need injection to counter the virus. After Lost Christmas, Japan lost its independence and became ruled by others. So far... Everything is good.

On day, the main character, Shu, meet THE girl. Inori is a singer Shu likes a lot but she is soon taken by the authority leaving him with something important she needed to deliver to someone. He decides to take on the job and end up in a rebel organization called : Funeral Parlor. That's where the story really begins.

Then... What the Fuck is going on ? Of course, they end up trying to save Japan, The World, Everything !

What is the problem with Guilty Crown ? When watching GC, you will have a lot of : ''Déjà vu'' from many other show. This is why many people compared this show to Code Geass and I won't argue about that. I saw the similitude between the two. Code Geass isn't the only show you can easily relate this one to. It doesn't stand out on his own two feet but takes on a lot of good thing from others show and was heavily inspired from it maybe. Probably. This makes a pretty messed up story where you seriously wonder ''Where is this going ?'' and all the thing happening to the heroes seems to be here for drama only and doesn't really flow correctly one with the other. While I found the first half of the show to be decent, the second half killed the show for me as the whole mess made by ''a litte bit of this and then a little bit of this'' was even more obvious. The second half of the story had no point whatsoever after the conclusion of the 12th first episode. Or should I say, after watching the whole 22 episodes, I asked myself what was the point of the first 12 then ? Nothing ! There was no purpose, all of it... for nothing.

I will refrain from saying anything from the ending except that it didn't seems to be the logical conclusion.

I gave 4 to the story as I liked the main idea with the virus and the beginning of it all... or the conclusion of it all but, everything else happening was a mess and the story kind of repeating itself in the second half killed the first half even tho I liked the way the first half was solved.

2.CHARACTERS:: Who the Fuck are they ?
Lately anime offer us a large variety of characters in pretty much each show. That's a good thing when characters stand out on their own and are interesting everyone can have a character they liked more and it's not just the Hero doing his shit and everyone else following with everyone being part of the 'Hero' concept. All the characters in GC looks awesome. All of them. The Animation is beautiful so it is to be expected. While they looks good, they have nothing else than Look. Almost all of them... I can relate to something I've seen somewhere else. I mean... Ayase = Karen much ? I could see Karen written all over her with her boobs bouncing while she's in her machine. Déjà vu, eh ? The characters are full of stereotype and while Shu tries to persuade us that Inori got some sort of personality for herself, I just can't see this personality. Where ? Where ? I saw nothing except a girl doing whatever she was told and moaning when he takes her void. Yeah, I noticed that.

Shu is your common hero / main characters. An ordinary boy running into a 'special' girl and getting thrown into a big story he doesn't really understand at first. He doesn't know how to fight but when he get Inori's void... I guess knowledge comes with it or something. He doesn't really have any characters development too and after the show end, I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any improvement.

3. ENJOYMENT :: Why should I care ?
Guilty Crown isn't bad. It's easy to enjoy it. I watched all the episode one after the other and I liked it. I can't say I was bored. I wasn't. Guilty Crown is an entertaining show with Action, Mecha and the story is decent.

If you've been watching Anime for a while, you might be a little bit bored and have a bunch of Déjà-vu from other show. You won't see anything new in this show. If you haven't seen a lot of anime show yet, watching Guilty Crown is a good idea. As a blank page, with nothing else in mind to compare it to or relate it to. You'll enjoy it. Maybe more than I did.
