Story:10- Reason, because it had a well drawn out plot. It did not rush the story (much to my personal frustration, which is a good thing honestly) and it developed its characters and relations well.

Art: 10- It had well balanced artwork, between the day and the night. The people in themselves shine. The eyes are detailed and the horror scenes are beyond detailed. They show every inch of things, and it will make skin crawl.

Sound-10: it becomes its own. The sound track is amazing. It mixes the emotions just right and gives depth to characters and plot. The sounds within the series is both horrifying and outstanding. The way the deaths sounded made one truly sick but then it was entertaining at the realism in it.The music also leaves you with a haunting tone and it continuously repeats in your head. Each scene has it's own unique style and sound for it and it portrays the sadness and sacrifices made within the series. It will also scare most if not prepared.

Characters-9: All together well developed over the length of the series. The main characters did not need full backgrounds since most were described in flashbacks as the series continued. Their personalities shined as well- and each character was different and had a different view of the situations within the story.

Enjoyment-10- This series made me think and see how life is from another perspective. The vampire's side, which they are brought back (somehow-we don't know exactly how or why) and in order to survive they must kill and feed. Now some may find that justifiable, others may not, but the truth is, neither side could win.

Overall-10: It is a series that full embraces the horror genre, and mixes together a good plot, enough mystery and suspense until the end where things are relatively solved and in a sense there is a "good" ending for just about everyone. Yes it is depressing at first but again it helps one to think on the message (one I personally saw) and look at things from a viewpoint of someone who is brought back, scared, and does not wish to die. Same as the humans do not wish to die- but wish to see passed friends and family. Humans can be the true monsters- while all together it can be concluded that there are good and bad humans and non-humans.

Shiki was amazing and I'll re-watch it some day. It also gave me a sense of "justice" and how life can be unfair- but in the end...the one who "wins" will have committed the ultimate sin against their brother.
