Preliminary (9/10 eps)
story (10/10):
One word: Awesome. Really, we have an almost-immortal vampire, a nazi, some terrorists and a girl that has a lot of issues. Also we have a cold woman that is the boss of that vampire and smokes and a very cool butler. Just throw all that together with some graphic violence and some philosophic questions and you have one of the best stories that ever existed. Oh, change that some graphic violence to a lot. Alucard doesn't defeat his opponents, he doesn't kill his enemies, he destroys them. It's a big part of the story. Why does he destroy? Why does he like to kill? Why is he such a monster? Wondering is the beginning of humankind. A good story has to make you wonder. Where some stories want to catch your attention with plot-twists, this one is about just one person. You want to know who Alucard is, you want to know why he has done what he has done. But most importantly, you want to understand him, to like him. You want to understand why he calls himself a monster. You want to know why he obeys Integra. He is the story.

Art: (10/10):
I have seen better art in the world of anime. Does that matter? No, because Alucard is such a cool guy to watch. When he has his glasses on, he is crazy, when he has his hat off, he is sad. When he is in his final form, he just looks awesome. Look at how he moves, at how he looks. That is great art on it's own. I've seen better artwork, better graphics, better animation, but nowhere, they are combined like in Hellsing Ultimate.

Sound (10/10):
I like other genres of music better. But that doesn't matter. Music has to fit the anime, or the OVA. And this music, just like the OVA, is crazy, is untamed. It gives you a feeling of chaos. I give the sound a 10/10, when it makes the show better. And this makes it better. The theme song of Rip is a perfect example. It just makes her character even worse.

Character (10/10):
Like I have said before, this OVA only revolves around one person, but that doesn't mean the others are bullshit and bad. No, they all have their own characteristics. But they all stop existing when you look at the personality of Alucard. Everyone of you knows Twilight? Vampires in Twilight are just like normal humans, they love, they fight, they hate. Alucard shows what a real vampire should be. A force of nature with just one ambition, to kill as many people as possible. And killing them is not enough. He destroys them, physically and mentally. He has made an art from killing. Every time you look at him, you see something special. And when you think he is getting boring, voilà, another side of his personality pops up. He shows every side of emotion we know, but at the same time he keeps his cool and doesn't let his actions be controlled by anything. The other characters are not bad either, but in the OVA, all is about Alucard and you can see it. They have gone all out in creating him.

Enjoyment (10/10):
I only give this point when I still want more if the serie has already ended. That doesn't happen too often. My credo is "If an old thing you were having fun with dissappears, you just search for something new" So if I still want more, it means the anime really did a good job.

Overall (10/10):
This review was more about a character then about the series, but I have had fun with the other characters, Pip, Police Girl (yeah, I still use that name and not Seras Victoria), Integra, Walter. They all were fun to watch and I liked them all. But in the end, Alucard just made the OVA. He made it to what it was. And I think that when one character makes a thing so much fun, you have to write about that one person in the story. It's just my opinion, but I hope you will watch this OVA and that you too see the true definition of Vampire.
