I started watching TMM because I remembered watching it when I was a child. At first, it seemed pretty average, magical girl, cute girls, romance, save the World...etc Cliché right? I continued watching it, and noticed one problem. The girls were all cliché types. It was so frustrating!

Character: 5/10
Ichigo - Typical hyperactive-ish girl who falls in love and is the heroine. Extremely cliché.
Mint - Typical rich and snobby girl. The only good thing is that she changes into someone nice towards the end and obsessed over someone.
Zakuro - Too 'cold'. Its hard to explain, but there is just too much of a barrier. She is too mysterious, no one can understand her. Sure, she's hot and smart, but other than that, she's nothing.
Lettuce - What's with the name? And the typical nerd girl that gets bullied but is actually pretty and kind. And seriously? Falling in love with a Supporting Character (Ryo Shirogane) and being unusually awkward?
Pudding - So annoying... Typical hyperactive girl who hides away the pain from her parents death and falls in love with the enemy.

Is it me, or is too cliché? Its alright to have a few clichés, but virtually all the main characters are cliché...

Story: 6/10
Typical 'save the World, fall in love' story. Sure, it was very exciting and great towards the end, but the beginning was way too weird and all over the place. What made me continue watching it, was me being curious over Kisshu's and Ichigo's relationship.

Art: 8/10
It was the beginning of the 2000's, obviously it wouldn't be amazing, but there was lots of room for improvement. I think there could have been more detail on the background art. The art on the characters was amazing, it really was. But the eyes weren't very expressive.

Sound: 6/10
To be honest, the music of the Japanese dub was crap. The OP and ED were great, catchy and cute. But the background music didn't really stick. Not the mention the transformations were instrumental...That was a big let-down. The English dub had much better success, the songs were amazing and well chosen. The seiyuus were great in both dubs, they expressed their emotions amazingly well.

Enjoyment: 9/10
If you are looking for an anime that you can watch in one day, and something that isn't too dramatic, and involves light romance, then this is for you. But if you like action and drama, this will bore you. I enjoyed it quite a lot, but at one time, I dropped it for around 6 months.

Overall: 8/10
It was alright, the plot itself was too cliché though. That was what ruined my opinion. I loved it, and I was completely head over heels in love with Kisshu for a while, but Ichigo was seriously annoying. Actually, the majority of the Mew Mews were very annoying.

I enjoyed it, but then I grew up and had a more adult mind. And this didn't appeal to me anymore. For people who want a funny, lightly romantic and childish anime, this is for you.
