8.1/10
I didn’t think I would have loved this manga as much as I did since the story is another, presumably, run-of-the-mill romcom with a dense protagonist and a fmc that’s a copy-paste of every other popular girl romcom story, but this is truly amazing due to its pacing and the more unique personalities of the characters.
Don’t you hate those female leads that never bother rising up the mc and never realize their true feelings until chapter 40? Well, I do too, and thank God this fmc has actual balls and attempts to hang out with the mc, which is really refreshing to read nowadays due to how the roles are usually reversed or they’re so indecisive that it becomes annoying.
The mc is alright — he’s not annoyingly dense, and he’s an admirable character who has a passion without it being too overbearing onto the actual story — or when it is, it’s incorporated into some funny scenes and plot development.
Of course, a manga about sweets and deserts is also sugary wholesome, as the interactions between the fmc and mc are some of the cutest things you’d read in a romcom, and did I mention that the fmc is the most lovable fmc ever?
Sort of a similar vibe with “Bisque Doll” but a bit more wholesome and romance focused, which is enough to check all of my books. It also has a pretty memorable story, so it’s not your average “this gal loves me for some reason” manga — not that I hate them, but they’re a bit hard to differentiate when you’re reading 30 of them with the exact same plot…
