This manga gave me a false sense of hope that a shouts manga can have good and well-managed characters and a story, however, that was only in the beginning. As the manga progresses, more contradictions in the characters set personality and the cliche developments creates a rather lackluster atmosphere from the standard of seriousness and entertainment.
The characters are set up well initially — they seemed well-grounded with their psyche and motivations set out straight while having optimal room to grow throughout slow and life-altering events. But of course, the manga doesn’t take the ideal route, and it instead contradicts each character’s personality solely for the sake of rushing the pacing to create “spicy” love fanservice — I for one love romantic developments in a story, but this is even too much for me; it was just done so forced and sudden.
Besides for the plot being riddled with fanservice, there’s an abundant amount of cliche developments for the sake of meaningless and forced developments; there’s no real tension in the plot due to the predictability of every outcome and event, which makes the author’s attempt to create fearful moments seem laughable, as it is nothing new.
Even as a romance fanatic, this manga was too rushed and cliche for its own good — there’s no age progression, there’s no logic behind the character’s progression, and there is certainly no substantial plot that makes this manga worth it. Besides for some of the light-hearted interactions of the mc and fmc, the manga doesn’t offer much, but it also doesn’t do much poorly, causing it to settle in the middle of the pack of “decent mangas.”
