I have suuuuucchh mixed feelings about this one. On the one hand I'm just so happy that a certain couple ended up together it made me bawl my eyes out. But on the other hand I hated the way this story was written - the author never once considered "show don't tell". Everything was just said so obviously but the thing is in real life I truly hate hearing people debate like it was written out here. I think authors have a lot of responsibility when it comes to how they influence their audience with certain ideas and morals but putting EVERY idea/hypothetical in the open just doesn't work. And I feel like the two queer characters were actually so mistreated by everyone around them but we were supposed to act like it wasn't a big deal. Wayyyy too much dialogue that at some point just became nonsensical. There's such a beauty to readers figuring out things on their own but that was impossible here. I love character focused stories but there has to be depth to the lives of the characters. Here it felt like we were just forced to accept that one character loves the other for really no reason. Like i kept waiting to understand what made this person sooo special to one character that they love them but it just wasn't clear. I was gonna rate this lower but the ending made me happy so I forgive the bad writing.
