I don’t know what I was expecting coming into this, but I can say that I got a rather wholesome, pleasant, and slightly comedic read that fulfilled all of my misunderstanding romance manga desire. Even with some attempts to find some nitpicks here and there, I couldn’t find much, since the manga was well-written through and through, especially with character introduction and its concept.
As far as plot originality and premise, the manga is right around the tier of “it has been done before but rarely,” which does create a rather small sense of uniqueness, however, the developments are still cliche and predictable. As far as character originality, they are also decently common, however, they are all distinct, likable, and well-introduced.
Because of the characters, the manga exhibits plenty moments that are filled with the wholesome and cute vibe. There’s some humor here and there, but it’s also a hit or miss, as some of the jokes don’t quite land due to the awkward conversations or dialogue. The side characters aren’t much and really only serve the purpose of intensifying the interactions of the main cats, but they are still done in a non forced manner, which is quite nice.
A fundamentally sound romcom through and through. It doesn’t do much apart from its premise, but it still does incur a blissful feeling when reading it.
