Glad I did not listen to those reddit hipsters, this is on par if not better than the original. They are perfect for each other, but I can understand why he also cant let go of mayuri. Maybe this is the best anime of all time, definitely best work of fiction regarding time travel.
This makes so much sense, I just rewatched steins gate ep22 and I get why that split second of her seeing the message made the difference, it warps beautifully, keeping in mind the past actions, the writers are literally geniuses. Damn myself for not being intelligent enough to admire this series. Guess I have gotta work on the intelligence stats, and I will visit again to rewatch this entire series in another order.
Damn, this one is a huge kicker, right in the feels. I dont know why others regard this as less than the original, but I would say this is on par if not better continuation, to the first part.
AI, creating more problems and emotional damage as usual, especially watching this in 2023 scares the shit out of me, of what could be. I like this series so far, the serious and dark tones, the maturity of okabe, the huge melons and the op and the ed, which constantly remind us that this world is the worst possible outcome and all the people their are doomed from the start, and the sad love story of this okabe breaks my heart, they truly were a perfect couple, but fate is cruel, playing with time is never fun and games. I especially like this series because it explains how okabe fights the cruelty of this reality and time to make the wholesome ending of steins gate possible.
This is the real fight, this is where the stakes are high, this is where he must learn and adapt and evolve, many plotlines are explained which were taken for granted before, a truly deserved season and a must watch to grasp the original theme of the series "the cruelty of time and fate", and how okabe overcomes it which is what makes him a mad scientist, you need to be a bit crazy to fight the fate/time itself.
Absolutely loved this season.
