Detective Conan Movies Rewatch Before Watching Movie 26: Movie 26

After a long marathon of previous DC movies, I finally got to watch movie 26 in theaters, and it did not disappoint! The hype was justified.

The BO finally returned, and they were threatening throughout the movie. They set the tone from the very beginning of the movie, and that menacing atmosphere was present throughout most of the movie. The usage of the supporting characters was balanced, as all of them had moments to shine. Haibara, the movie's deuteragonist, stood out the most after Conan. Some of the recent DC movies have begun focusing more on character and relationships, and this movie was no different. Some of the scenes do invoke some emotions, which was aided by the great soundtrack.

The animation was great, and the action was fantastic. Conan is back doing his crazy stunts as usual, and there weren't any "meaningless" action scenes. The plot was logical and coherent. The setting, despite being in an ocean again, was utilized quite well.

There were also a few social commentaries that may or may not be intentional. Some worked, some didn't work, hence the lower-than-perfect score.

Nevertheless, movie 26 was a great action/thriller movie that should attract even non-DC fans. Conan is the Japanese Tom Cruise. 9/10
