The character and design are really fitting and not excessive. Of the many effects and styles, I'm only interested in the story being presented and this anime is quite successful in presenting quite an interesting story from an unexpected angle.
They're just kids who don't know anything, they're a mix of smart kids and not so smart. The dark theme that was presented was also quite interesting because ignorance of the outside world made them not realize what was happening. Don't want spoilers, but when they realized what happened. That's when this anime became very interesting and there were lots of unexpected things, that was the first time I felt it when I watched it.
Highly recommended for mystery and psychology types where we will be made to guess where the story will end.
