The second season of Shokugeki no Souma is very similar to its first season. The story is a direct continuation and the art and voice acting are the same.

The story in the second season is mostly the continuation of the autumn elections followed by a few episodes about another interesting challenge. The pacting feels slightly slower and there is lots of attention for the cooking battles and the preparations leading up to them. Overall it manages to stay interesting quite well.

The characters are mostly the same as in the first season with one notable addition named Subaru Mimasaka. His cooking style is quite unrealstic but if the molecular gastronomy from the first season was acceptable then his cooking should be fine too. All in all it's nice to see the different personalities clash in cooking battles.

The art, voice acting and music are all the same as in the first season and are all pretty good.

Overall this is definitely worth watching if you liked the first season of the anime. It continues the story and gives plenty of fun cooking battles to watch.
