Paces out the unraveling of the world's mystery very well for most of the series. Seems like they had fun coming up with abilities for characters as the plot needed them. That was interesting to watch unfold. Final reveal of the structure of this universe was personally underwhelming, and the tidying up of the plot in the final & epilogue chapters may make readers go "Huh? What? Why?"
Overall, it's fine, and while the portioning out of plot unveils definitely kept me reading, nothing felt dire or strongly engaging. There are just too many characters for a reader to be believably relatable, but it was pretty funny that most characters were obsessed with "being cool" over anything else. Didn't feel like a chore to read and it was dumb but competently executed, so recommended if you want something to read before bed.
