D4DJ All Mix: A disappointing sequel for a series that had potential.
D4DJ comes with a second season, after a special that was released not long ago, with some low-key hype for more fun interactions of our main group and hopefully some good songs.

Unfortunately, it looks like this is not it, as it failed to hit all the marks I've hoped for.
Similar to Bandori, D4DJ uses the first season to introduce the bare cast of the series, but with the next seasons being filled with many side characters that anime onlies have never heard of before.
This is also the case with D4DJ, but unluckily, we also don't get the luxury of enjoying the trip through the lenses of the main group we already know, but of another, new group called Lyrical Lily.

Throughout the anime we see them interacting and working with various groups, and seeing these groups work on their own songs, but it leads into a quagmire of being unable to follow who's who, and frankly, it's not very interesting to watch all these unknown characters do... whatever they're doing.

Another problem is that there isn't really much of a story, and the script is extremely weak. With groups getting a single episode (or two if they're lucky) each, it's hard to properly tell a story of the group, which leads to very rushed developments, and honestly, many of these developments don't even make sense.
There are also many problems with the conversations themselves between characters. Which feels like they're speaking, but don't actually say much of value.

Finally, with the story, cast, interactions all out of the window, I think the make-or-break point is the music, and the plethora of songs being inserted into the anime.
This is highly subjective of course, even more than before, but I personally felt that the songs this season were EXTREMELY weak, and frankly, disappointing.
It seems like the groups themselves have taken a bit of a "departure" from their original style, resulting in a bit of a different song compared to what we're used to. It could be welcomed by some, but I personally found it very disappointing.

This might be enjoyed more by people who play the mobile game and follow the game stories, but at least if you're an anime only, you're going to be totally lost.
