Preliminary (3/12 eps)
Spoiler
I’m gonna keep this short because I believe there is not much to say.

If you made it to the second season then the first season was already compelling enough for you to keep yearning for more. Trust me, I’m on the same boat as you guys. I don't know about you, but I enjoy watching bad shows. Not so much at a time, but enough to make good ones feel so much better and a relief that there are still some genuinely good shows out there. The first season of Fruit of Evolution was enjoyably bad. I had fun watching and found entertainment out of it. But damn, if you think the second season was going to be the same, you would be wrong. This season is such a letdown to say the least. Where do I even begin?

Seiichi and the gang arrive at Barbador Magic Academy where Seiichi will be teaching. He ends up with a small group of four problematic students plus Saria. They also have two new villains at the end to set up the cliffhanger. They themselves are not even interesting. That’s all there is to take away from the first episode. No joke, this is all that really happens in the first episode. This is not looking well.
The problematic students then introduce themselves to Seiichi which takes up half the episode and at this point I’m just getting mad because this is starting to feel like a drag. The last half is where Seiichi will have a 1 on 1 fight so to speak with each of the students. The third episode is all the 1 one 1’s plus Karen reuniting with Seiichi and that’s it.

The art still feels the same, so there's nothing much to take away from this as well as the characters. The villains in this show are just those types of villains where they are just there for the sake of being there to move the plot forward. I’m not even sure what their motivations are.

The comedy in this season is just god awful. It tries a bit too hard to be funny when that is the complete opposite. They have random = funny bits littered everywhere to the point where I feel like that’s their main gag. Now I will admit that I do like those bits every now and then, but this is just too much. They also have jojo references so if you like that then maybe you’ll find some humor in this. As for me, it just doesn’t click.

I was actually kind of shocked that this show even got a second season. It was kind of those shows where you would still want more, but proceed to move on and forget about it. An in the moment type of show where you have your fun and just move on to better things. Needless to say that the second season of Fruit of Evolution got me so fired up inside that I just had to make a review. I initially came into this for some closure, but I didn’t even get it.

Overall, I think that this is not worth your time. This season just drags and hasn't even gotten far in 3 episodes. It’s just majorly disappointing. I’ve also heard that the manga was better. I’m not even gonna bother with it because this left a bad taste in my mouth that I just don’t wanna look back. What went wrong for the show to just fall so hard.
