Definitely not the greatest show but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't enjoy my time watching it. In the beginning it's front loaded with immense amounts of dark and depressing subjects but I'd rather watch a train wreck than paint dry which is what the latter half of the season suffers from. When I think back on this show I immediately think to the more absurd things at the start, whereas the second half feels like they ran out of edgy things and realized they needed an actual plot. However! The magic system is very cool and I really enjoy it! I just wish such a good magic system was attached to a show I could earnestly recommend for something other than an ironic watch. If you're looking for a way to kill time or have a "bad anime night," with friends, this is for you.
