Indeed, this anime is not for everyone. But still one of the few shoujo anime some might actually kinda dig.

Right off the bat, we get the typical RPG setting of the evil demon "last boss" that the hero(es) needed to defeat. It is an instant red flag for everyone who watched a dozen of the isekai/RPG type every year. As a dead horse that needed even more beating, these anime are not the ones that should be recommended to a first-time anime watcher. Or maybe the Netflix anime watcher.

Although, again, as the title suggests, they mashed the RPG genre. With the recent spiking in popularity genre/trope of villainess as the protagonist. That alone is already making it a distinctive watch. Competing with a small market with only a few better competitors.

The recent popularity aside, the show properly does the trope justice. The story itself is relatively straightforward. Enough animation for a show that is not action-focused. Intriguing choice of VAs, especially for Aileen. The writer adequately understood who their target demographic is.

Going a bit more critical, the overly hostile villains show how this anime is literally going for a no-frills plot device. It does help younger audiences to enjoy the show. While also being too simplistic for some to invest in the story. Even for the romance, many scenes are just too dramatic to be natural.

Seeing how they decided to do a lot of story arcs in a 12 episodes anime, the pacing is on the quicker side. Although, there doesn't seem to be any character growth or relationship progress. Viewers would only get bombarded with info dumps to flesh out random characters. Yes, there are a lot of characters that don't get much screen time. This is part and parcel of when a show uses fast pacing to advance the story.

It is a straightforward show, yes, needing minimal attention to understand what is happening in the anime. Probably would not be the last of the trope, but certainly, be placed on the upper echelons.
