Fantasy anime that's pretty simple but effective in worldbuilding. It has the premise that people all once came from the sea but now, there are two sub species of humans, those who live on land and those in the sea. Story was not predictable, always caught me off guard. Every second was excruciating but it was all worth it. Love the style and characters we're all fleshed out. I love them all especially Hikari. You want pretty art? This has your back! They acted too realistically that it always made my heart drop whenever the ending song came on. I love the ending song so much!! I think everyone will too! This is the type of anime you'd want to binge once the story has you hooked. To people who get easily annoyed with teens and kids acting like kids, I advise you to not watch it unless you can see why the characters are acting the way they are. Do not worry, all is well in the end.
I initially dropped this when it aired because it didn't give me nice feelings but I had to finish it some day and here I just did. I came in hating it and came out loving it. That my dudes, is what you call angst with the best ending you could ever think of dammit! (well I don't know if I should call it angst but, there are scenes that make you just want to shout at the characters like: "Stop keeping it to yourself!") Watch it and prepare some tissues and munchies! Go!
